I installed the 6002i in the rear of my vibe using a toyta spec harness from crutchfield, the wiring on our cars from what I can read is primarily Denso -- so i believe it is Toyota then.

Re: My 2005 Vibe engine won't fire until it turns over a few times. (Susiegirl)

Due to the high compression which is 10:1 (insanley high compared ot other older V-8's and 6's) one must crank it a few times in my opinion; but i could be wrong on that one. Also, if the engine fires right up to 1000 rpm's with out having oil run up the cylinder walls, which can be easily done by c...

Re: Side pipes!!! (Merzbow)

With enough money, anyhting custom can be done. As for heat, you can use heat dampening material (i work at an aviation shop, and we use some serious stuff there, so it can be solved). You can also use square tubing for the piping but it is expensive, a pain in the (removed) to bend and rarely done....

Painting a Two-Tone Vibe

I want to paint my Two-Tone Vibe (Lava, Grey Plastic). I was thinking color matching, but that never works, and that would only bring it up to a factory option. So i was thinking a true two tone color scheme would be better. Tell me what you think and feel free to add color choices. Also, what espec...

Check the spare tire compartment, adn the amplifier screws -- i have had these problems (along with many other rattles from my 2 12"MTX's)

He is right, it takes time for the engine to create enough vacum to suck in all the extra air.

Re: Good Tuner Shops in Houston (ZubenElGenubi)

The only place i trust is ripleys car care and repair which does custom exhausts on anything (and i mean anyhting). they are located on rayford sawdust on I-45s. I also know they can install pretty much anyhting in the world (not sure if they will on some things though due to warranty issues).

Re: How do you maintain the exterior plastic trim on your Vibe? (Bdaz1)

i use Stoner Trim Shine. It just sprays one with an aerosal can and can give it a high luster or not and it allows for some resilliance. its pretty nice stuff, but not cheap (like 5 bucks i think); there is usually enough for 3 - 4 coatings.

CryO2 System...?

I have seen multiple advertisments for a CO2 based cooling system by DEI that cools the intake charge, intercoolers and fuel lines through "heat sinks". It does not directly inject CO2 into the engine though, just chills the air and fuel. I was wondering if anyone here has seen this in an ...

Re: where to go shopping? (ragingfish)

I would have to agree with the pro-crutchfield reference. They do have unsurpassed customer support, you do get free brackets and what not, and you get install instructions for your vibe. I found these priceless for my head unit install because i could have done the wiring myself but found it so muc...

Good Tuner Shops in Houston

I am young, have a vibe and some expendable money. I need to know if there is a performance shop i can go to for advice, tuning/dyno and those projects which may just get too big for me. Pretty much anywere in houston is good with me. Thanks Alot!

I have one question Devlop, what are the brackets like behind the head unit and gauges, i need to install an equalizer under my head unit and am just curious if you used the stock ones or what. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and props on the very nice install and Alpine head unit.

Re: Ideas on custom sub enclosures? (watts1371)

There is talk of grafting the 2005 Subwoofer into the back of earlier vibes, so it will serve as an enclosure. I am not personally aware of any custom enclosures for the vibe. You could always go crazy and mount some free-air subs back there (i am beyond unknowledgable on these though). I also wonde...

Re: Aftermarket Subwoofer (grinder)

Um, i use two 12" MTX's (Thunder 6000's) and i like them very much, not too great on SQ -- partially my amps fault. One of these subs can be found for about 120 or less since they are last years model. They handle 250 watts RMS, so a good 2-Channel Amp bridged into one will provede best value, ...

Squeak in 5 speed when shifting into 1 and 3

I have a constant squeak when shifting into First and Third Gear. The squeak is not from the clutch but instead from the linkage. Does anybody know if there is a lube point i have been missing for 28,000 miles? Or perhaps is related to the clutch problems? And if i need to take it into the dealershi...
