I got my vibe because I love having the room in the back to store stuff. My old truck had two 10" subs in it and now I am missing the bass. Does anyone know of custom sub enclosures that will not take up room in the back? Maybe put them where those identitions are near the hatch? Anyone ever mounted them on the ceiling? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Someone created a custom fiberglass enclosure that goes on the right side of the trunk. I've always wondered how much work it'll take to put two 10"s in say, the back hatch...But no, nothing easily available yet..

There is talk of grafting the 2005 Subwoofer into the back of earlier vibes, so it will serve as an enclosure. I am not personally aware of any custom enclosures for the vibe. You could always go crazy and mount some free-air subs back there (i am beyond unknowledgable on these though). I also wondered if those back seats could not serve as a part of a box -- point the subs toward the driver and enclose the backs of them. But, if you get really daring, there is always under the back seat, in the back door panles (like 8" subwoofers) or a bass tranducer if you can find one. Just some brainstorming...It would be nice to get my trunk back from my 2 12" subs and their sealed box though...
I originally found a photo on matrixowners.com, but I can't find it now. It was probably from a SEMA show. I'll keep looking...It showed two subwoofers in custom enclosures mounted in a Matrix on the rear side windows! Depending on how and where you put the amp(s), you wouldn't be giving up much space, and the floor area would still be clear.EDIT: Oops. Originally posted a PT Cruiser interior photo! I found this one of the entire area stuffed full, but I'm still looking for the high-mounted subs pic...
