HI - 2 guys know out this way have done it (Carbon Fibre) - front bumper, hood (follow the hood lines instead of the whole hood) roof, spoiler & hatch as well - I don't have any pic unfortunatly but it looks real good (one on black & one on the metallic grey) IMO, if you do it, do the lip on...
Welcome to GenVibe! I really like that colour - too bad it was a one year run only - to answer your question, yes, you can add the GT spoiler to any of the models/hatches - just remove the old one & install the new one (same bolt holes & clips) - you will have to get a primered one & get...
On a side note, if I end up using wiring harnesses for the fog lights, will it be okay to have two of the eye terminals connected to the battery wire (two fog lights = two wiring harnesses = two eye terminals)? ) Adding 2 terminals will be no problem - just make sure there in an inline fuse for eac...
Hi - for starters, your Vibe is equipped with electric power steering assist, so there is no fluid for this system (supposed to help with fuel economy, one less pulley to turn) - as for your noise, what engine do you have? 1.8L or 2.4L? I've had a few 1.8L's with water pump noises come thru where I ...
Yes, that's the harness I was talking about - there is no connector to the battery, just a wire lead with a "eye" terminal (you can cut this off & use what ever size you need) - the factory (+) battery wire has a 10mm nut on it I believe - you can just take this off & put the "...
On the 2009 & 2010's you can change this feature (along with a few others) with a Tech2 - Features you can change are: Keyless Entry System Description and Operation Display Default Contents Setting Wireless Control ON ON / OFF of wireless door lock function. ON / OFF Hazard Answer Back ON When ...
Thats weird they flicker when turned on - I have a Base 2.4 with Fogs & just did a straight plug & play and never had any issues (3yrs going) - there should be sufficient voltage present @ the connector - it might be they brand of HID's are a little more tempermental - don't know if you have...
Aren't I the worst lol - I had some positive changes in my life & the arrival of my first little one so my time hasn't been my own lately :D - I got pictures already just finding the time to upload is what i'm working on 8-) I guess having a kid is a pretty legitimate excuse :P! Congratulations...
I'm in the same boat as you with the speakers - I just purchased my new head unit (pioneer AVH-X3500BHS) - Here is a link to the faceplate adapter (mine just came in today!) - http://www.metraonline.com/part/95-8224" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - I've seen a few posts on ...
I will post pics one day in the garage lol Been waiting for a Garage thread from you for over a year and a half now :P! Aren't I the worst lol - I had some positive changes in my life & the arrival of my first little one so my time hasn't been my own lately :D - I got pictures already just find...

Glad it worked out for you - I've also added Amber Chrome turn signal bulbs in the front & rear (from Autolumination.com - Fronts 3157 & Rears 7440) Gives it a nice dark orange look - I will post pics one day in the garage lol
I checked with the stock availability @ my work & those mats have been discontinued for out Vibes (both FWD & AWD models) - I also checked if any other dealers or warehouses (Canadian dealers & Canadian & USA Warehouses) have them & no one carrys them anymore - looks like you are...
If your looking for a power source to tap, if you have the cigarette lighter package you can steal power from the wire that powers the glow ring around it - another spot I found ignition voltage is on the passenger side behind the glove box - there is a connector just sitting there (if you have the ...
Like lannvouivre said, a flashing SES light indicates raw fuel being dumped into the catalyst which means damage - if driven like this for too long enough fuel will eventually cause the catalyst material to melt into a solid mass (if this is the case, then it could be the cause of your no start as w...
The rattle in the steering column is just coincidence - I've mentioned in a few posts about noise from the steering column (same noise issue that the cobalts & pursuits/G5 suffered from) - I put 4 columns in my car for noise issues but to just have them return - the rough roads with the lower pr...
I've experienced the same thing with my Base 2.4 with 17" wheels - the ruts in the road can take you on a bit of a trip - from what I've seen with the Vibes coming into my work, this is a bit of a normal operating characterstic, espically with the GT's with 18" wheels - Your Vibe has elect...
I would be down for a durham or central meet (I'm in Oshawa) - There are few Vibes rolling around here - @brently123, I think i've seen you out & about a few times near the OC (your tinted tails on the Black look really good) - I've been contemplating making a visit to the Toyota Nation meet in ...
Hello, there is a special tool that is required to remove the retaining ring - I've done 1 fuel tank on a 2009 @ work & had to remove the pump - on some you can get away with using a hammer & punch & walk the ring off carefully - The service information says your not supposed to use anyt...
I have had my current lighting setup (Nokya hyper yellow Stage 1 bulbs in the fog lights and Sylvania SilverStar zXe bulbs in the low and high beam headlights) for a little over a year now, so I am expecting at least one of the bulbs to be burning out soon, so I have been considering getting some H...
Thanx again for the info - I see you plasti-dipped your manifold heat shield, how is that holding up? I tired to find info about heat tolerance but didn't really find anything - I assume that stuff must be pretty good (I used high heat caliper paint on my shield)
Your Vibe is looking really nice! Great Job - your info on the TRD lowering springs is what I've been looking for - I have a base 2.4 as well with the front TRD brace & rear sway bar & have been toying with the idea of those springs - I'm looking for better handling without much sacrifice on...
Hello - one possibility I can think of which happened to mine is the steering assist motor brushes are noisy (espically @ slower/parking lot speeds) - the assist motor is mounted on the column inside the car behind the dash (just to the right behind the cluster, which if noisy is right there) - I've...
I have HID's in my Low Beams (6000K) & Fog Lamps (3000K) - Install is simple plug & play - You won't need to get the relay harness for the Low Beams as the DRL's run on the high circuit (if you get a really cheap kit, you may need to get the relasy harness to bump up the voltage) - I have th...
Hopefully this helps you out - we had a Vibe come in as a prize car that had both original keys lost - we were stuck with the same dilemma about replacing the theft deterrent module (which is mounted @ the base of the fire wall) - instead we just tricked the module - you got a new key with remote cu...
I'll have to try to make it out to one of those meets - I'd like to see more events/meets up this way (I'm in Oshawa & have seen a few 09-10 rolling around) any where across southern ontario is a nice drive anyways
GM sells (or did for a while) the GT wings in 4 pre-painted colours not badly priced (or un painted for even cheaper) - As for the front strut bar, unless someone is parting with the OE front brace your better bet is to buy the TRD front strut brace - I'm looking at getting the TRD front brace soon ...
GM Service Information says to remove the front fascia to gain access to the fog lamp assy & to remove the bulb - if you can get up there with the spalsh shield out of the way you might be able to release the 2 retaining tabs & 1 adjusting screw - this will allow you to remove the lamp assy ...
Thanks for the reply XRvibe10, I had a bi-xenon setup for my 03', had them aimed correctly and never got flashed. I really like your setup, perfect color temp. Did you remove your headlight for installation? There's hardly any room in there compared to my 03'. Thanx 4 the set up comment - I love my...
I got 6000K 9006 Bulbs in my Low beams & 3000K H11 Bulbs in my Fog lamps - just used in the stock housings - simple plug & play kit (did not need a relay harness for the lows since its a stand alone system) - The company I have is called Litech, I purchased it from a local vehicle Mod store ...
Hey gimmegimme,
Do you have white LED strips mounted on your front bumper by any chance??? I saw a white GT a few months ago in the pickering/ajax area, was wondering if it was you?
I missed last years (which was closer) - going to try to see if I can make this one - its a bit of a drive but I'm always down for a good road trip - I'll have to see how my little one & wife (due in April) are doing/up to travel - if not I may fly solo...
Thanks Guys, I was thinking 30% all around.... Oh and XRVibe10 I did that mod with the auto light , just by disconnecting the sensor on the dash... I did not have to take everything apart... I figured there was another way of disconnecting the sensor - I assume you just poped it out of the dash &am...
Hey Metaxa, Legal tint in Ontario is 35% front driver & passenger window, and all windows behind the "B" pillar can be as dark as you like (5% is the norm) - My 2010 Vibe has 20% fronts & 5% rears - never been bothered by police (I usually keep the sunroof shade open to "light...
This may be totally unrelated to this noise, but I had a popping/creaking noise from the front of the Vibe - we even had some customer complaints about it as well - The noise becomes more present when going over bumps and turning as the body shifts - what we ended up finding out was the the rubber i...
To date I have refused to let them circumcise my gas pedal. But the only "maintenance" I have had done was not covered by any recall or warranty. We'll see. I think that if GM refused to fix the window switch issue because I wouldn't let them tough my gas pedal, and later there was a fire...
I'm curious to see what happens with this - i've posted a few items on here in regards to noise from steering columns - i've had to put 4 in my car alone under warranty for rattle noise over rough roads & at slower speeds - its not a safety related item, just a noise issue - i've put 20+ columns...
Whoa! I like the last outside picture with EVERYTHING ON! But... how did you get the Vibe to have both LOW and HIGH beams to light up at the same time!???? I'm really interested! Thanks! The Low & High beams on at the same time is a factory set-up - unlike most older cars when you switch from l...
My 2010 2.4 Auto sometimes has the same issue espically following the ruts in the road - the lower profile 17" & 18" wheels are quite bad for grabbing ruts & uneven surfaces and making the car steer unexpectedly - Even when i'm holding the wheel I have to fight the ruts sometimes, ...
Another way to tell is by looking at the shifter console - the 4 speed autos go "P - R - N - D - 3 - 2 -1" (is equipped on the 1.8l & 2.4L AWD models) and the 5 speed auto is "P - R - N - D -> S +/-" (is equipped on the 2.4 base and GT models, has the "Sport mode" w...
Just like J to Envy said, this is a normal operation - I have a 2010 2.4 and this is totally normal - unlike the older transmissions/transaxles primarily of the 4 speed generation, these trans do not use bands anymore which alters the shift feel & quality - all the newer 5, 6 & 7 speed autos...
Yes, the air goes through this filter regardless of which mode, fresh, recirc, defrost, heat, cold, etc. It is just over the blowermotor itself so any air coming in to the cabin must pass through this filter, so you are safe to leave it in any mode
Thank for the feedback - I plan to get some pics up here shortly in the garage, just waiting for some nicer weather so I can her all washed & waxed up so I can get some better pics! Nice to see a fellow Jbody (I remember your screen name from the Org J to Envy ) I'm PhantomCavalier on there, don...
Hello fellow genvibers! My name is Brandon and I live in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. I am the proud owner of a 2010 Vibe 2.4 5AT 1SC Model - I have been on this site for some time now (I will be posting in the garage as soon as I can wash & wax & get some good pics) - I am pleased with the comm...
GM does have a bulletin regarding this condition on the 1.8L engines (basically the same Toyota Bulletin) there is also one for the 2.4L engines with a Sharp Engine noise @ start or idle - the intake cam phaser will need to be replaced on this engine as well if traced / diagnosed as the concern
I agree with star_deceiver - The Vibes I have seen @ my work (2009-2010) the problem lies in the rear - water intrusion gets in the wheel speed sensor connector @ the wheel hub and corrodes - we usually end up putting in a Hub & WSS harness - a bit of a pain to do espically if rust/corossion has...
@tpollauf - I'm not completly sure what component fails internally, wether its a bearing or bushing - its not a safety concern, just a noise issue - I've inspected the columns after removal but have never torn one down as they have to be sent back under warranty - The Chevrolet Cobalts, Pontiac G5/P...
