Scan Gauge setting, whats your compensation ???

Post by yyamad1 »

Ive been using the Scan gauge in my vibe for couple of years, just out of curiosity, I was wondering what peoples compensations are from the default. It shows you the % when you do the fill up and put in the actual pump gallons you put in... I have to check my scan gauge for that tomorrow.. and i will post it. I normally get 30-31 mpg per tank in Chicago IL, summer a little more. I have gotten 38-39mpg on easy highway trips but never gotten that for the entire tank. So I think my setting is pretty accurate, its always within few tenths of a gallon...and I drive a 04 Vibe 5 speed base.

...I'm using a +12.3% (fuel gallons) calibration factor on my SGII in my 2009 1.8L 4A base Vibe....but, be aware that number changes when they switch from winter to summer gasoline mixes.

I've never used the SGII in my Vibe. I have used it for a few years in my E150 with a 35 gallon fuel tank.I've noticed that the offset changes every tank by a large amount. I don't know if I am being ripped by the gas stations or it is something else. The variance will be much less noticeable with the Vibe due to a smaller tank.

Not sure what mine is at the moment. When I first got it close to a year ago, I set everything up initially and haven't touched it since then. I have noticed my calculated MPG is about 3-4 MPG higher than actual, so I'll have to adjust it and get it closer to reality. I'll do this soon as I'll start driving it a bit more with nicer weather
