emergency brake light

I have a 2008 manual 5 speed Vibe. Does this model have a light that tells me that my emergency brake is set? is mine broken?

Thank you, I've been finding that my brake has been engaged but no light telling me so. I didn't drive far before i realized it was on but now it's happened a few times and wanted to check before i took the time to bring it in to the shop.

I hope it doesn't cost you a lot to get it fixed in a shop. I'm so cheap if I couldn't figure out how to fix it I'd just deal with it. EDIT: Is your emergency brake pulled up all the way? My dummy light for the emergency brake does not illuminate until its about half way up.

no, the light does not come on at all. it still under warrenty so i hope it doesn't take all day to get fixed

It shouldn't.

Does the light come on when the key is turned to start? If it does come on, you just have a faulty switch on the brake lever or a bad connection. If it doesn't come on, thats a much bigger problem - could even be the gauge cluster itself then.

mine comes on just at first click as you are pulling it up.
