Re: (ullbergm)

My only fear would be the lack of material to mount the ball mount to. I have not looked into the rear quarter panel of the Vibe but is the sheetmetal thick and rigid enough to hold a ball mount?

Right now I'm running an homegrown upgraded mag mount dual band (2m/70cm) in front of the rear cross bar. I called up Larsen and have a remount kit coming for my KG antenna I used to use on my old jeep (BTW, Larsen is giving it/shipping it free to me, Universal wanted $8 plus shipping). The mag mount...

I was thinking it was knocking but it wasn't the usual sound and one would think the computer would throw a CEL. I'm due for another tank of gas in a few days, I'll throw a tank of premium in with a bottle of cleaner and see what happens.

Klinking sound from engine

Over the last 2 weeks I have been hearing this kinda of klinking sound from the engine when it's warmed up and usualy under load at low RPM and raising 1.5 K to around 3.5 K RPM. The sound is kinda like coins rattleing or something. I have heard this sound before on my old Jeep with the I6 and it wa...

Re: Hard Wire IPOD on M&T w/o Nav - Done! (Vibration)

My first thoughts - Good Find! But the more I think about this, a couple of questions/comments.First, you shuld look at some sort of filter/protection on your line in. Static discharge could fry the radio. Also look at some ferriod (sp?) beads on the line in to prevent feedback on the circuit.Second,...

Took mine in last Thursday for the fix. Seems on the '03s, especially on the drivers side, the window can hit the door limiter (Flat bar that keeps the door from opening 180 in thw wind, etc.) Anyways my dealer has seen it before and the fix was to remove the panel and the limiter, grind it down a l...

I'm going to be installing a MP3 CD changer in a few weeks and want to know which under seat device would be easier to move/relocate. The AC Converter under the driver's seat or the M&T amp under the passenger seat? For now I'm keeping the stock radio and using a FM modulator to keep the setup lo...

I have had quite a few new cars over the years, some with extended warrenties, some without. Currently on the Vibe, I opped out from getting one. My reasons, first Toyota quality of the major stuff (engine/tranny), my family is expanding and one of our 2 cars will need to be "up sized" in ...

Re: Aux Input - PIE Adapter - SUCCESS! (millster)

An email from PIE does state that the changer DOES need to be there in order for either X3 and adapter to work. Seems the changer sends the BUS command to activate the AUX input for the radio to see it. Us NAV and non NAV guys without the changer will need something that sends the BUS command for th...

Re: Aux Input - PIE Adapter - SUCCESS! (Jahntassa)

So in order for this to work, you need to have the external 6 disc changer connected to the harness since that sends the zux signal from what I understand. So us guys with the regular base radio with/with out the M&T amp are screwed, right?

Re: Broken Fog Lights (silverawd26)

I smell upgrade time. Since the fogs are a somewhat standard size, you can probably find an aftermakert pair that are brighter and better for the price of one OEM light. A little work with a Dremel on the old lights and you got your bracket(s) to mount your new ones.Just a thought.

Your right about that horn. This morning while pulling into the driveway at work and old guy in a green Chevy pickup pulls into the driveway in front of me. My Vibe impressed me not once, but twice yesterday.Yesterday morning, the wife and I went out looking for 2 new recliners for the living room. I had a set of these on my old Neon R/T. Great tires, stuck like glue.As far as the item about using Tire Dressings voiding the warranty, IT'S TRUE! Something in the rubber compound that Dunlop uses in the sidewalls reacts with tire dressings. What ends up happening is each time you use the dressing...

Re: The amp is gone (yank dini)

I would worry about heat on that amp. You have it mounted upside down by the looks of the pictures. The amp is designed to disapate (sp?) heat up and away, now your sending it through the board and out the botton which does not have any heat sinks. With the plastic cover on top of it and the summer ...

Re: 12" Sub Box and Amp Install Guide (Goines)

While the switch is not a bad idea, I would use a relay instead and switch the power going to the relay. A 200 watt amp takes roughly 15 amps, ALOT of power for that little switch. If you use a standard 20 amp auto relay ($5), you can switch the power line to the relay which only needs to be .5 amps...
