Re: (papacueball)

Mine has broken twice. The radio was barely ever used and treated very carefully. I think the hot weather caused mine to break, since all was fine until the hottest weather started. Either way, these radio knobs are defective, regardless of what GM claims is a very isolated problem, and no record of...

Sounds goood to me!!I tink that hot weather has something to do with these knobs breaking, since mine was fine until the temps started getting really hot.

Re: 2009 Radio Knob revisited (DrummerBoy)

Conclusion to the story.... I contacted GM via the email address on their website. They were very qiuck to respond and seemed to want to help rectify the radio knob malfunctio,LOL. They claimed that they have not heard of any issues or complaints regarding the radio knob defect. I told them that I f...

2009 Radio Knob revisited

So, I now have 4500 miles on my 2009 Vibe. The first radio was replaced after 3 months due to the notorious on/off/volume knob breaking off after very light use. The second replacement refurb. radio was installed at 3 months and 1200 miles, this one was used for 2 months and a total of 3 times when ...

Which dealer did your pedal recall? I had mine done at Sherwood in Delray. They did a fairly neat job on it. I didn't ask for a new pedal, maybe I hould have.

Re: (Ivibe)

As for the radio knob, they ordered me a new radio and will notify me when it is in. I've only used the radio maybe 6-7 times, as my car only had 1200 miles on it when it broke. I think the replacement radio will be a refurbished unit, since the radio is no longer made. The dealer tech. told me that...

I've checked the oil at various times, generally 15min after useing the car and other times after thae car has not been used all day. The level is always about 1 inch above the top dot.

Re: Back to the oil change (Ivibe)

I have a 2009 2.4l as well, I have had my oil changed 3 times by the car dealer. Each time the oil level was approx. 1 inch over the top dot on the dipstick. I brought back the car to have them check the oil level and each time they have assured me that it is fine and not to worry about the level sh...

Transmission PCM Flash Failed

I had my 2009 2.4L 5sp auto Vibe at the dealership today to have the TSB flash done, due to harsh downshifting. Upon picking up the car he told me that the flash was not sucessful and I can leave the car there and they would redo it tomorrow. I couldn't leave it being I have a job and only 1 car, no...

Hi, I think there is a square button located at the bottom left side of the dashboard. This can be used to disable the Stabiltrak system.

Re: 2009 Vibe AWD Rough idling? (sreeni.k)

I also have a 2009 2.4L, not the AWD model. I have less than 1500 miles on it, and have always noticed a slightly rough idle, which I also feel through the steering wheel. I am used to 8 cyl and 6 cyl engines, so I figure that it's due to the 4 cyl. When the the car is put into the park gear, the id...

Re: Ignition cylinder and key get hot! (djkeev)

It's a 2009 2.4L 5sp.Auto. I read about a few other cars having the hot key issues, but they were due to the current from the ignition cutoff security system and considered normal.

Ignition cylinder and key get hot!

Does anyone else notice this? After driving only a few minutes, I shut the car off and remove the key. It's pretty hot, and the metal key cylinder is very hot. Is this normal on the Vibe? My temp. guage is always at half or slightly below, which is fine, but I do notice that the cooling fans kick on...

Re: (djkeev)

I should be getting 21 mpg. I'm thinking that on a 12 minute trip, I spend 4-5 of those minutes idle at a traffic light, so this would result in poor mpg. Hopefully once I can check it on a normal trip the mpg. will be much better.

17 mpg. city driving with new Base Vibe 2.4L 5 sp. Auto

I've only averaged 17 mpg with my first 3 tanks of gas. I drive normally, no agressive take-offs etc. I use this car for work only 3 miles each way, and this ride consists of 2-3 traffic lights. I've only driven 400 miles in the 3 months I own this car. I have to take it on a normal trip to see if t...

Yeah, the polarized lenses allow you to see all stress in the glass, even the checkerboard pattern in the rear window. I'm actually an optician, so don't worry about the technical details...LOL. We use a device at work called a polariscope to actually inspect stress patterns in lenses. Do you notice...

Re: Windshield Distortion (tribalman)

Yes, the passangers notice it on the drivers side. It's even more noticible when I wear my polarized sunglasses which would normall cut down on the reflections but enhance the stress in the glass and the laminated layer.

Windshield Distortion

I notice a fairly large amount of distortion in my 2009 Vibes windshield. The drivers side is fine, however the passenger side has distortion covering about a third of the way towards the center. I even notice some waves in the middle. The viewing through the glass is clear, but when passing other c...

The glare strip actually stuck to the dot matrix by the rear view mirror very well. From the outside of the car it appeared a slightly lighter color than the rest of the strip. Re: New 2009 Vibe Owner (vibolista)

The transponder reader is a low output design according to the manufacturer this eliminates crosstalk from nearby vehicles and false gate openings. It also is a weak signal, so I guess the tint blocks some of the needed signal. The tag must be affixed to the windshield at the top passenger side corn...

I actually purchased my 2009 Carbon Grey 2.4/Auto Vibe on June 15th. I only have driven it about 250 miles so far. The only mods I have done so far are having t...
