Transmission PCM Flash Failed

Post by DrummerBoy »

I had my 2009 2.4L 5sp auto Vibe at the dealership today to have the TSB flash done, due to harsh downshifting. Upon picking up the car he told me that the flash was not sucessful and I can leave the car there and they would redo it tomorrow. I couldn't leave it being I have a job and only 1 car, not to mention the 1 hr. trip to the dealership. Anyway he responded by telling me that it should be OK to drive the car and when I have the chance to bring it back in. BTW he had the car for over 8 hrs to complete the work. My question is: Can driving the car result in any damage or driving issues to the transmission? or does the PCM simply revert back to the original programming? The car seems to drive OK, I probably won't get a chance until sometime in August to bring the car back. Thanks for your replies
