Re: 2009 Vibe won't shift into Park

Very sorry for the late response. I was surprised that all this turned out to be was a "frozen" linkage. My mechanic just lubricated it heavily, and it shifted as normal. Thanks.

2009 Vibe Whining Noise

I have a 2009 Vibe that is making what I would describe as a whining noise, but only when my foot is on the accelerator. When I am driving down the road (say at 40 MPH) and then take my foot off of the accelerator, the noise will stop within 1-2 seconds. To give more information, the transmission is...

2009 Vibe won't shift into Park

I have a 2009 Vibe (1.8L engine) that I use for a rural delivery route. When I stopped to make a delivery at a store this morning, the vehicle would not shift into Park. The rest of the gears seem to be working fine, and all I did for the remainder of the morning was put it into nuetral, with the em...

Re: 2009 Vibe....How to clear codes

Thank you....I drove it the next morning, and as you mentioned, all the codes cleared on their own.

2009 Vibe....How to clear codes

After cleaning my Mass Airflow Sensor this afternoon, I installed it and started my car without plugging in the connector. This caused my check engine light to come on, and various codes to appear. My question is how do I clear these codes? I'm thinking I would disconnect the battery for a short tim...

2009 Vibe ABS and Brake Light on

I have a 2009 Vibe (FWD) that I drive each night on a delivery route. When I finished this morning, the brakes had been working fine, with no lights on. When I went out this afternoon to start it, both the ABS and Brake lights stayed on. I then took it for a ride, ran it through the wash to get rid ...

AT Fluid Leak at Drain Plug

I have a 2009 Vibe with the 1.8L engine and Automatic Transmission. I changed the ATF about 5,000 miles ago (using Toyota WS) and while underneath it this afternoon, I noticed a small AT fluid leak bleeding from the drain plug. The plug was tight, so I am wondering if this plug has a washer of some ...

2009 Vibe Rear Brake Caliper

I have a 2009 1.8 Liter Vibe, and I am attempting to change the rear brake pads. I bought the special tool that is used to depress the caliper piston, and even though I am able to turn the piston quite easily with the ratchet, I cannot get it to compress down into the caliper at all. I have released...

Re: 2009 Vibe: What to look for (star_deceiver)

Thank you for your responses. I noticed below the post about the idle speed drop on the 2009, and the question of whether it is related to a dirty throttle body. The Vibe I am looking at is a 1.8 Liter with Auto transmission. Does anyone know if this is a widespread problem with this model, or even ...

2009 Vibe: What to look for

I currently own a 2006 AWD Vibe, which I use for a daily rural delivery route. Because I need to get better MPG, I am looking to trade up for a 2009 FWD Vibe within the next few days. My question is, for owners and those with knowledge of the 2009, I would be very interested in your experiences with...
