2009 Vibe Rear Brake Caliper

Post by raider64 »

I have a 2009 1.8 Liter Vibe, and I am attempting to change the rear brake pads. I bought the special tool that is used to depress the caliper piston, and even though I am able to turn the piston quite easily with the ratchet, I cannot get it to compress down into the caliper at all. I have released the emergency brake, so not sure what I am missing.Does anyone have experience with this, or can point out what I may be missing? Thank you so much for your time and help! :?

You're probably going to need to use a lot of force to compress the piston back into the caliper. You could also open the bleeder valve.
