2009 Vibe....How to clear codes

Post by raider64 »

After cleaning my Mass Airflow Sensor this afternoon, I installed it and started my car without plugging in the connector. This caused my check engine light to come on, and various codes to appear. My question is how do I clear these codes? I'm thinking I would disconnect the battery for a short time, but want to make sure that is right. Thanks so much for any help!! :)

You could disconnect the battery.

You could use a code reader to scan and erase codes.

You could just drive the car as normal and the code is likely to clear itself after several off-on cycles.

The easiest way, assuming you don't have a code reader, is to disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 minutes.

Thank you....I drove it the next morning, and as you mentioned, all the codes cleared on their own.
