How many quarts are you burning in between 5,000 miles? I'm seeming to have to add a quart every 2k.Edit: In your post above I see that you are in the same boat as me. Let me know if you ever plan on attacking those stem seals. I may be interested in doing this too.

Vibe losing oil

Hi All,Its been a little while since I posted here. I am having issues with my 04 Vibe base. It seems to be losing oil. I am getting the infamous P0420 code and I know I need a new cat. When I first bought the car at 117k miles it didn't seem to burn any oil but now at 143k miles I seem to be puttin...

Any transmission problems I would not continue driving the car. Go to a Toyota dealership and pick up 4 quarts of Type IV fluid. Put a pan underneath your tranny and unscrew the plug until all the fluid comes out. Last time I pulled the plug, it removed about 3.25 qts. I would fill to that amount an...

limp mode is the "fail safe" feature of your transmission. It will only make your transmission shift in 1 gear only to get you to your destination without ruining any other parts of your transmission during a malfunction. From what the P0770 - Shift Solenoid 'E' code is, it looks like its ...

You will need to gap the plugs because they come pregapped at .30. If you don't gap them it will cause a hotter spark and cause your car to run lean. In turn, this will cause the plugs to wear prematurely. Just be careful not to break or seriously bend the electrode.

If you get an alignment, it would rule most suspension parts out of the equation. If there is any slight play, shops usually won't complete the wheel alignment. I would take it to a picky shop.
