newbie to vibe-engine noise on aceleration

i just purchased a 06 vibe base model with automatic tranny,49k miles,when i press the gas pedal from a stop,the engine makes noise,the noise goes away after revs come down,,like valvetrain noise,,could be descibed as throaty,,but could also be descibed as marbles in a tin can,,,do vibes usually have noise on accel?,,,thanks

+1 on belt tensioner, you might however just be able to replace the wheel on the tensioner. if you decide to get a new belt , goodyear gatorback is the only way to go.
