Re: Goodyear Confortred (kostby)

The originals were Goodyear Eagle RS-A's. They could have been streatched a bit further but I seem to get a lot of flats when the tires get thin.In my experience-don't let anyone aligh your wheels unless you are having a problem. Factory alignment is done with a fixed jig. I don't trust the skill of...

Goodyear Confortred

It was time to replace my Vibe's original tires (38000 miles). I originally looked at Goodyear Tripletreds but @ $565 they were a bit expensive. I installed the Goodyear Confortred and am extremely happy with them. They offer good handling and very long milage (80000 mile warranty). What is really go...

Cabin Filter

I noticed that Lowes carries a filter that is good for alligens and has carbon for odors. It is a big filter for about $9. It can be cut into several cabin filters and seems to do the job.The cabin filter is about .75 X 8 X 8.125.

I have the iPod with iTrip and do not recommend it unless you live out in the sticks. Range and quality of sound is very poor.

Re: Dents? (msmyer)

I have some hail damage on my Vibe. I went to a body shop and they indicated that they used both the Paintless and this type of device. I decided to try one.A couple words of caution. They want to sell you all sorts of stuff when you order. I had given them my credit card number and would have cance...

I noticed that you apparantly changed your wheels and tires. Have you checked your speedometer accuracy?I don't know if the 17 inch wheels and tires are the same diameter as the 16 inch set. Does anyone know if there is a different sending unit for the speedometer/odometer for the different wheel se...

Easier said than done! The amp has two plugs. One with 8 wires and the other with 17 wires. It would be difficult to figure what does what without a wiring diagra.

Re: Device Under Driver's Seat (Sub-Vibe-R)

Thanks for the information. That sure is a big chumk of stuff to only give 100 watts of power. i have yet to find anything that consumes that low a current other than a 100 watt light bulb and I am not so sure about it.

Re: AMP with Moon & Tunes (Sub-Vibe-R)

If I can figure a way to get the iPod input, it should act as a pretty good pre-amp. The challenge may be getting the amp powered. I don't have a wirng diagram but I suspect that by turning the radio on to CD with no CD would power the amp. The iPod would have to be used to control volume.

Re: AMP with Moon & Tunes (Cajun)

What I would really like is the new Delphi MP3 player that replaces the existing CD. The sound quality is OK for me with the Moon & Tunes set up. My ears can't hear a lot better than that.

Re: AMP with Moon & Tunes (cibomatto)

Yes but all the reviews I have read so far indicates some quality problems and having to hunt for the right location. The Vibe antenna is located at the rear of the car and that may be contributing to it.

Re: Garage Door Opener Button (Herb)

I started in the direction of using car power (my remote has a small 12 volt battery). I had wired it to do it that way.I decided I was over doing it. It is a hassle to find a power source, tap into it and then store it all somewhere you will remember. The door on the small compartment has a REAL fli...

Re: Garage Door Opener Button (NSimkins)

This is a radio shack button which cost about $2.50. You have to open your garage door opener and solder the button wires across the appropiate spot on your opener. You can test which but placing a wire across the suspected points. If the door moves, it is the right ones. Try not to have your car un...

Garage Door Opener Button

I found a use for the left side compartment. I installed a black push button (Radio Shack) in one of the blank spaces above the compartment. I wired from it to a garage door opener stored in the compartment. It looks like it belongs (more or less) and is a lot easier trying to remember which of the ...
