Problem w/ GM12-AUXv2 Install - Any advice?

Hey guys,So I tried installing the GM12-AUXv2 device this weekend, so I could play my MP3 player over my stereo. Other users have installed it w/o any problems, so I thought I would give it a try. The install went pretty smoothly and I feel like I have everything hooked up properly -- Sadly, though,...

Need some splicing help...

Hey gang -- I'm installing a GM12-AUXv2 audio input device for my stereo and it's coming along pretty well, but I'm a little confused about how to splice the power and ground wires for the AUX unit into the 12-pin connector on the back of the radio. I bought some quick splices (based on a recommenda...

Add AUX input or just buy new head unit? Opinions anyone?

Here's my dilemma: I want to add an AUX input to play my non-ipod MP3 player. I've read all about the different ways I can add an aux input to my stock 2003 Vibe head unit, via AUX2CAR and the like. From what I can tell, these solutions will run me $60-$80 and require me to do the install myself, wh...

Check Engine Lite - Loose Gas Cap

So yesterday my check engine light came on (I have about 43,000 miles on my vibe). I had heard that having a loose gas cap can cause it to happen, so I checked mine, and sure enough it was significantly loose. Relieved that it was a simple problem, I got back in my car and proceeded to drive around ...

Re: (ragingfish)

Actually that's incorrect. Those are the parts listed on TSB #02-08-111-005A (July 31, 2003). There is a new revised TSB #02-08-111-005B release April of 2004. I don't have a copy of it (only saw it at the dealer) and it has about twice as many parts listed.Anyone have a copy of this new TSB.(I think...

Cladding Nightmare!

OK... so I took my '03 Vibe in to have the discolored cladding replaced. After much arguing, they agreed the TSB covered my problem and agreed to replace it. After getting all the parts in (or so they thought) I bring the car in. They called me and said it was done, so I go on over to pick it up onl...

Any Luck with Cladding Replacement in SoCal?

Hey, I was wondering if any GenVibe members have had their cladding replaced in Southern California, and if so, which dealership. I recently took my '03 vibe into Thorson Motors in Pasadena and they refused to change the cladding, saying the discoloration wasn't prominent enough -- I find this whole...

Re: Tired of Being Shocked! -- Please Help! (Smitty)

Thanks for all the helpful hints guys. And yes, the whole gas pumping process has taken on a whole new sense of caution -- one little spark and there could be one less genvibe member! Smitty

Tired of Being Shocked! -- Please Help!

I don't know if this is a problem any other vibe owners have experienced, but my vibe gives me a pretty serious jolt every time I get out of the car -- usually when I touch the door to close it. I know that most cars do this from time to time and that it is simply a byproduct of much of the static e...

Missing Rear Wiper Part

Hey guys,If anyone has a vibe part list I could really use your help. I went out to my vibe the other day and noticed that the small black plastic piece that covers the bolt on the rear wiper was missing. I really can't imagine that anyone stole it (although it wouldn't be difficult since I think it...

Are Rattle Repairs Covered By the Warranty?

I have a persistent rattle in my front passenger door and was thinking of taking it into the dealer. Is that something that will be covered by the warranty or will I have to pay for the labor of looking for the rattle? If I do have to pay does anyone know how much that might cost me? -- From my sear...
