Re: Question to those with 18 on Base Vibes

I have the 18 now and there was very little difference in acceleration. Its a little rough but on smooth roads they feel fine. They look great. I went with 225/40 and felt better than 215/45.

I got the Verde Regency from tire rack.

I'll post some pics.

Re: Question to those with 18 on Base Vibes

Thanks. I'm willing to sacrifice a little slower acc for some niceer wheels. Ill be sure to choose some lighter ones then. But ill go with 225/40. On the tire size calculator 215/45 were 3% slower than stock. 225 are .3 slower. That might of also affected it.

Question to those with 18 on Base Vibes

A few years ago I bought some nice black polished lip 18 but decided on 215/45/18 as the 09 GT. I thought a taller tire would feel better. The problem was that it made the car feel slower at acceleration. I ruined the whole point of having a small car. I sold those set of wheels and now need new tir...

hey keith. Love your Vibe and rims. So the loss in acceleration was noticeable even with the 40 tire you have?? I'll get used to it if I have to but it just kills the whole fun from driving this car. Its a trade off I have to think about worth having.

Well my first week the tires netted me 24mpg. So far now I am at 110 miles with a little less than 3/4 full. A little better so far. Maybe it was the bad gas.Question now is for members who have gone from 16" to 18" with 225/40 tires. Was there a very noticeable loss in get up with the sma...

I vote for http://www.performanceplustire.com. I've bought 3 set already. 2 for my Monte Carlo and just 2 weeks ago got some 18 for my Vibe. Best prices by far for a complete package. Better than tirerack and discount tire. I suggest to come here first to check prices than go to your usual place and...

OK, I finally got my black rims with machine lip with some Falken 912 tires and they look damn good on. -Pics Later-Now my deal is that I got 215/45/18 tires which made my car a little slower of the line. Its not as quick as before. The 40 series is closer to OEM speed. I'm trying to ignore it cause...

OK, Ive decided on my rims online. Now my question is if it is worth getting 40 series tires. This is my wife's daily driver and I don't want her complaining about the ride comfort. The deal is that the 45 series online is $25 more per tire than the 40. I also don't to have a huge gap unless there's...

It can also mean that you need to balance your tires and if it shakes at braking then you may need new rotors.

Sorry for not answering the tire pressure. I always keep it at 35 psi. I'm not comparing it to a Cadillac or anything like that just that its not the least bit smooth on the road.
