My wife has an 03 base Vibe with 100K miles that needs some TLC. We just came back from a road trip and couldn't be happier with the VIbe but it needs a little help in the performance part and my wife is bugging me to make the car sportier and look/perform better.Well, I'm about to change the shocks/struts in her and I am also looking in lowering it with Tein springs. I'm thinking of going with s-tech.My question is whether it will make shorten the life span of the new shocks since they are not made for a lowered height. I bought the KYB version. I also have the Progressive anti-sway bar which I will install once I get the shocks in.
answer is yes and noyes most will tell you it will shorten the life of the strut because the strut is in a constant state of compression. But most still are able to get the same amount of mileage out of the stock struts. Some would say for the 2wd you should upgrade the struts to koni which are made for lowered carsI have an awd with kyb struts and I have just about 10k on these with out any signs of major wear
