Thanks for all the suggestions guys.it looks like I've landed a full set of new GY ultragrip ices and a full set of steelies for under $600. I'm geeked, I'm cheap. So, my question now is:I've heard that vibes tend to "cup" rear tires frequently. I just tried to rotate my wifes tires (we bou...

I've got the option of getting blizzak revo 1s' with 3/16 tread, or a pair of goodyear ultragrip ices at deep discount, and then have to buy the other pair retail. Plus I'm either getting hosed for multiple mounts and balance, or for rims.Anybody got a set of steel wheels for cheap?

Thanks ya'll, after some quick research I think I may not be getting 'the deal' as these rims are from a mercedes slk 280 (with what appears to be a 5x112 lug pattern) though they are aftermarket, I think the pattern is off.rats. thanks for your time guys.

shopping winter tires and rims

Hey all, this may be a stupid question, but I'm stumped:I'm looking for rims to suit snow tires for my wifes car. I found a set of kosei 16x7 rims and some blizzak revos with about 3/16 tread left on them.do we think the 16x7 rim will work on an 05 vibe (I think they're kosei sports rims with 5x100 l...

Re: intake manifold cleaning (mcgyver554)

I would think simple brake cleaner/ carb cleaner and a good drying would be sufficient. I have a friend who cleaned 1 lb of garbage out of his VW TDI intake with brake clean and air dried it for some time, he used around 3-4 cans of the stuff. Just clean it/dry it thoroughly, if theres any debris in...

well,I drove the car to the recycler, got the ecm, installed the ecm while car was warm, started the car, it stumbled on a lower idle (650rpm appx), eventually leveled off, drove it around town, no check engine light/MIL no codes, seems like it runs better. So to answer my own question: keys have no ...

Re: code 2716 ECM / PCM replacement, car immobile until vin set? (300dweeb)

Also,we don't have chips in our keys correct? I was reading the matrix manual speaking about having the keys coded, and I was wondering if vibe keys have microchips in them as well, just in case I need to get them coded.thanks

code 2716 ECM / PCM replacement, car immobile until vin set?

Hey all,my wifes 05 base model has been getting a code 2716 and shifting hard,I looked over the forums and found a toyota TSB on this issue, as well as a few kind folks stating its a ecm/pcm issue.I've also read that the VIN# needs to be programmed into the new ecm once its installed.Does anyone kno...

Re: driveline play question (300dweeb)

no takers?tell me no one here has ever spun their tires while the car was up in the air? I just want to know if the previous owner rocked it out of the snow too much.

driveline play question

Hi all, I noticed a small clink on take off recently. When the driveline is engaged from a dead stop, it makes a small noise. I figured it was possible a cv joint was going slack.I've read the posts on the "lower ball joint grease injection" remedy, but I crawled under the car today, and c...
