Every time you have your tires balanced, they have to remove the caps. You would have to re-silicone them each time. Since I've had the newer style ones, I've not had any problems with them. They take them out to balance the tires and put them back in when done.
I have a copy of the service bulletin and my receipt for the replacement by the dealer.Send me your e mail address and I'll scan it and attach it for you.
GM issued a new bulletin on December17, 2008 that new replacement caps are available under warranty and should not be glued in place.I have four of them on order and they should be in within a week.See Attachment.
Curt Hitches is shipping me out a re-designed hitch for my 2009 Vibe on May 23, 2008. This one is narrower front to back and should fit better without hitting the muffler.
The hitch hits against my muffler. They are re-designing the hitch to make it narrower front to back for more clearance. They are going to ship me the new model to try out on May 23, 2008. I'll let everyone know how it works out.
I've had my 2009 Vibe AWD for six weeks and can't find one problem with it, nor could I with my 2006 FWD that I traded in, only because I got stuck in deep snow a couple of times. Not a squeek, rattle, nothing. They're making them good.
Everything said in the original post, I concur with. My 2009 AWD with the chrome wheels does get a lot of looks and positive comments.I like the GT, but traded in my 2006 FWD after getting stuck in the snow this last winter. West Michigan had a lot of snow.
I'll be tied up at that time, but I wish we had a local club in West Michigan.Curt Hitches come with a very heavy, shiny powder coating, not paint and look like they will hold up against rust very well. They really have a quality product.
I received a Curt Hitch 12228 towing hitch after being told by their customer service that it would fit my 2009 AWD Vibe. I installed it, but the hitch was touching the muffler and at low rpm, made lots of noise. I called them and they said the AWD Vibes they tried them on had a half-inch of clearan...
Just got off the phone with Keith Brunett at Curt Mfg. They physically checked and found that the 12228 trailer hitch that most dealers are selling that are advertised as fitting the 2009 FWD Vibe will also fit the AWD, but not the GT model, because of the rear facia. I just orderd one for my AWD mo...
I just replaced the RSA's with the Triple Treds and I can tell you there is no difference in road noise, neither is quiet, but the car isn't a Cadillac either. It was raining out and you can tell the difference in handling (much better) right away.
I traded in my 06 FWD Vibe for an AWD 09 model and the bigger engine is really noticable right off the bat. My wife has a 3.5 V/6 in her Hyundai Santa Fe and I think my new Vibe would give her a run for her money. I'm going to get a few hundred miles on it before I try checking the gas mileage at 70...
Keep in mind that mine are 215/50X17" tires. They cost more than the 16" tires. There is a rebate on the Triple Treds and I got out of Discount Tire for $456. because they gave me $200. for my RSL's, plus there is the lifetime free rotation and balancing and a 2 year free replacement warra...
I just got a bunch of estimates and I'm trading in my OEM Goodyears on a set of Goodyear TripleTreads, which have an 80,000 mile warranty. I have to pay $450. difference. Most places I checked didn't even want to trade in the OEM, but the place I'm dealing with is giving me $200. for them.
When I purchased my first Vibe, an '06, a FWD model, I rotated the tires every 5,000 miles and they still wore out in 20,000 miles. I've talked to many Vibe owners and the Honeywell fleet manager that had hundreds of AWD Vibes and they all had the same problem, both FWD and AWD.I talked to the Goody...
I traded my FWD Vibe in for the new AWD and wanted to know how they do in snow, as I got stuck a lot before. My wife has a Hyundai Santa Fe, which has a lot higher ground clearance than my new Vibe and does fairly well in 6-8" of snow. What can I expect? Because of the low ground clearance, wil...
I'm a new member to this group. I just traded in my 06 Vibe FWD, as I got stuck in the snow a couple of times this last winter here in Michigan. I bought an 09 AWD Vibe in Carbon Gray. It's a lot quieter ride than the 06 and the 2.4 engine is more powerful, but of course, the gas mileage is down som...
