I received a Curt Hitch 12228 towing hitch after being told by their customer service that it would fit my 2009 AWD Vibe. I installed it, but the hitch was touching the muffler and at low rpm, made lots of noise. I called them and they said the AWD Vibes they tried them on had a half-inch of clearance, but they are going to redesign the hitch for more clearance. The current cross bar is 2 1/2" X 1 1/2" and the re-design will be closer to square, but heavier gauge stock. This should add an inch of room. They are going to ship me the new design next week (around May 21, 2008) for a try and then I'll ship the other one back to them on their dime.I'll keep you posted on how it works.

sounds like they've got pretty good customer service. Hey you should come down to the meet we're having in Tennesse on July 26 and 27th. There's a couple people coming down from that area.

I'll be tied up at that time, but I wish we had a local club in West Michigan.Curt Hitches come with a very heavy, shiny powder coating, not paint and look like they will hold up against rust very well. They really have a quality product.

Curt Hitches is shipping me out a re-designed hitch for my 2009 Vibe on May 23, 2008. This one is narrower front to back and should fit better without hitting the muffler.

Please, let me know how it works, cause I have the same problem with a Hidden Hitch #60958 that I got installed on my 2009 Vibe 2.4L. It's hitting the muffler and to make it stop, the hitch dealer wants to change the muffler's original flexible supports for rigid ones, something I'm not too sure I wanna do...Thanks.

I bought a couple of large hose clamps and cut an old piece of tire sidwall and clamped it in. Completely silent now.
The Drawtite model fits any model Vibe perfectly. As long as the holes are not filled with dirt and grime due to Pontiac not puting plugs over the 6 holes, the thing installs in minutes and doesn't rub against a thing. I put it on my 03 and 09.
