Re: Stock Amp (rockinvibe)

Never did get a copy of wiring diagram. I did figure it out myself.Everything seems to work OK and polarity checked out with voltage meter.NO GUARANTEES yours will be the same. In our car the wires to speakers change colour somewhere between amp and speaker. Maybe change from GM wiring harness to To...

Re: Strut bar (Space_Cowboy)

Those studs are part of the strut mount. They hold the mount to the structure of the car. The centre larger bolt is the top of the strut.A dealer or a shop that specializes in suspension work should be able to fix it up for you.I would not recommend leaving it for very long before you get it fixed.

Lucky you don't have the AWD 123 HP, more weight and an automatic. On some hills in the Rockies I have had it right to the floor downshifted as far as it would go (like 5000+ rpm) and still lose speed. But give me a 6 inches of snow I will kick anyones A..

Re: Location of sub-woofer installment (Sub-Vibe-R)

I installed a JL audio microsub in rear hatch area. Sub was mounted using JL supplied mounting bracket to the vibe track system. I can still open cover over spare without removing sub. Wiring was run under carpet from amp under passenger seat. No holes drilled. Sounds great and takes up little room....

XXX DVD - The GTO is Back

Watched the Vin Diesel XXX DVD last night - Lots of good action. Kind of a James Bond on steroids. Anyway in the extra features there is a spot on the return of the GTO. The spot features clips of Pontiacs performance cars. (04 grand prix GTP, Grand Am, Sunfire, GTO and two Vibes both satellite one ...

We get very little heat coming out of the floor registers. (-24c this morning D_ _ _ _ cold) Even with the recirculate on/off it seems most of air comes out of top dash vents. This is in all distribution modes. If I close the dash vents seems to help a bit. Taking it back to dealer at first oil chan...

Interesting. The spacer must provide a better connection to door, thus eliminating any resonances caused by the thin plastic in the stock basket. ie: better bass, clearer highs...I might try this myself - THX for the tip..

The JL's fit fine provided you use the stock speaker basket as a spacer. About 1/4" clearance to the window.Cheers

I'm sure the stock amp would work OK. But if you can get an external amp that has good power to drive the JL's it will be better than the stock and/or the Alpine internal. MAybe bi-amp and run the tweets off the Alpine internal!!!Let me know how the Basslink sounds when you get it installed. I've re...

Just finished up a bit of an upgrade to audio system with the stock 6 disc changer over the holidays. I removed the factory amp from under passenger seat and replaced with an Alpine MRV-F300S (older amp but good power and sound). At the head unit installed a soundgate LOC 4 line level convertor.
