Re: Check engine codes on my Vibe 2009

As far as urgency, I would place it at pretty low. You will notice very little difference in performance. The only real urgency is dependent on how much the CEL bothers you and whether you have to pass an emissions test anytime soon.

Re: Check engine codes on my Vibe 2009

I threw the same codes on my 2010 Vibe. Spent a fair amount of time researching the issue and it's likely water/gasoline in the charcoal canister. Second most likely reason is the vapor canister purge valve is plugged or broken. Cheapest place I found the canister was on Amazon. Right now the AC Del...

Re: Vibe emissions air pump turned on by itself

I believe it's usually done between 5 to 8 hours after the vehicle was last run. My vibe was continually throwing an CEL with an EVAP code from the emissions test. It would never throw the code during the day since I would go out for lunch (usually around 4 hours after last use), but if the car sat ...

Re: Correct engine oil for 2010 1.8L? 5W30 or 5W20?

Toyota engine and Toyota Matrix manual specifies 5w20. GM for whatever reason chose to specify 5w30. Bottom line is if Toyota is specifying 5w20 I wouldn't have any problems in putting in 5w20, but put in 5w30 if it makes you feel comfortable.

My 2010 Vibe threw the same codes P043E, P2419, P2402, P2401, P043F. Did a little research and the charcoal canister seemed to be the most likely suspect with probably water or gas in the canister. Did a little more research and found that my issue of occasional problems fueling my Vibe where the st...

If anyone's in the market for the Scangauge II, Amazon will have it on sale as a "lightning deal" starting at 12:00 Eastern. Around this time last year they did something similar and it was selling between $120 and $130. So I would assume their price will be something similar this year, wh...
