Re: Door ajar light on after accident & seatbelt question

Yep it's totaled. They are taking it away tomorrow. I ended up buying another used ford escape on Sat.. I'll be sorry to see it go, but decided to go something different, since it's been 6 years and I felt like a change since I had decided to get a different car. The mechanic said frame damage, so I...

Re: Door ajar light on after accident & seatbelt question

Thanks - the mechanic looked at the car and thinks they will total it. $7500 to fix. I'll have to make a decision on what to do. Really too bad - I like my car.

Re: Door ajar light on after accident & seatbelt question

I've attached photos. Thanks for the replies. I took it to have a shop look at the car - They would work directly with the insurance company - said they'd need the care at least 2 weeks. I'm hoping they don't total the car, but I'm not sure.

Door ajar light on after accident & seatbelt question

Hi. Someone rear ended my car yesterday. The hatch now looks like it is open about 1/4" - 1/2", though I can't pull it open when the door is locked. The rear driver side car door also sticks - is hard to open so that latch may not be quite working right as well - They hit me on the rear dr...

Goodyear triple treads - so much better in winter

I just wanted to post quickly that I got 4 new Goodyear Triple Tread tires last year - thanks for advice I found here, and they have been wonderful - I feel so much more safe driving in the winter now. I didn't get stuck anywhere, or slide into anything like I used to with the old tires. I am in St....

Ok, after nearly going blind looking at and comparing tire prices, I ended up ordering 4 Michelin X Radial tires in the same size as the stock ones, from Sam's Club. They got a very good Consumer Reports review and were about $100 less expensive for 4 than the Triple Treads, once I take off a $70 sa...

Ok - I have been doing more reading. They say if two tires are better than the others, they should be on the back, so the car doesn't fishtail. It looks like the Goodyear Triple Treads get good comments here so that is what I'm leaning towards. If I get two of those, same size as existing, I would pu...

Re: (Houston)

Logically I could see that making sense if I rotated my really worn down tires to the back, and put my better ones on the front - but would it really make a difference if you just had slightly better traction on front.I've certainly replaced two tires before and never had a problem. Interested to se...

Re: (djkeev)

Thanks. There is a small local shop which I have fix my tires if I have flats, that I could have put them on and balance them for me if I decide to go the online route.Ok, so my understanding is keep the same outside diameter, but ok to go a little narrower on the tire width - even on the same wheel...

I guess what I am most confused about, is if I am keeping the same size wheel, and only replacing two, do I have to keep the exact same size - P205/55R16 the size I need is what confuses me. If I get the exact same size will they be equally bad tires as what I have in light snow.Edit: My other optio...

Replacing 2 tires - All Season

I need to replace my front two tires on my 2006 Vibe. I currently have the stock P205/55R16. Last year, I bought snow chains after a deep snow here where I felt unsafe driving, but didn't end up getting them until the snow was over. We get maybe one significant snow a year that lasts maybe a week or...

Re: XM Inno plugged into Vibe - Question (kunkstyle)

Thanks - well since I already have the xm car antenna from my other old XM radio - I'll get good reception and I think I'll try and do without it. I know the car antenna works plugged into the home kit, because I tried it in the house tonight. Also it turns out my xm nexus (which is not activated) h...

XM Inno plugged into Vibe - Question

Hi. I just purchased an XM Inno radio. It is a Pink Inno which is a 1st generation one. I did not buy the car kit, but I do want to use it in my car. I already have a hardwired FM Modulator that I use for my Ipod so I know I can plug it in there. I was trying to save money and not buy the car kit be...

Re: (northvibe)

Thanks - that was much quicker, knowing that the button was there.I figured out what the problem was - actually two problems. I'd put the knobs on 180 degrees wrong - just had to flip them over, but then when I turned the heat switch up to test that knob, I lost my sound completely. When I took off ...

Installing wired FM Modulator - questions about problem afterwards

Hi. After alot of reading I decided to go with a wired fm modulator, rather than wireless. I installed it last night, and it sounds great, however I am having some car issues now, so I need to go back in and make some changes - so had a few questions. Warning: not a lot of experience with cars here....

Ipod FM modulator quality

Hi. I am considering getting an ipod, and have a 2006 vibe with the 6 cd changer. I currently have used the FM Modulator with both Sirius and XM radios and was fine with the quality of sound I got from them - I wondered if the sound quality using one of them with an Ipod FM Modulators would be simil...

glove compartment door problem

Hi. I have a 2006 vibe. About a month ago I tried to follow the directions in the manual to check the cabin air filter. When removing the glove compartment door I obviously did something wrong, because now it will not stay closed. There is a part that is attached to the glove compartment - a cylindr...

mouse in air filter compartment?

Hi. I'm wondering if this is anything I should be concerned with. I got the oil changed. I've had the car since August, and they wanted to change the air filter. I told them I'd do it myself, so when I got home, I checked it, and the bottom of the box was full of sunflower seed shells, corn, etc. as...

Hi. I hope this is the correct forum for this. I just bought a new Vibe. Re: Armrest help (TSvibe)

Thanks for all your help.I just sold my old car which is a huge relief - Now I won't have to be making two car payments at once. I sold it to the Kia dealer - now I believe it when I read that a dealer who deals in your car might be willing to give you a higher price for it than a trade in - I got $...

Re: (2006_Salsa)

Hi. I just bought a vibe yesterday. Did you get the correct armrest when you ordered - have you received it yet?My arm doesn't reach the armrest, and I have a shoulder problem where I need it to rest on the armrest - so am looking for it.Meg
