My father-in-law's insurance company practically demands that he have the deer whistles because of where he lives and the fact that he hit one once. It seems that after putting them on his truck, it actually made him more prone to hitting them. He hit three in the first month after putting them on. ...

I don't buy into any of that "entrapment" crap. A cop can pull up next to you at a light and rev the engine, or he can tease you on the open road at high speeds. It doesn't matter. If you choose to race him, you broke the law. Unless he held a gun to your head, I don't feel that it is entr...

I currently have the same problem with my 2003 vibe with under 33k miles. I think they are designed to fail after the warrenty expires. Mine went about 5 months after the 3yr mark so I haven't even tried to get it looked at. If you search on here, you will find a few threads with posts in them about...

Yeah, Roy's is the place. I liked it better than Moonlite, but you're right about the refills. Nice to be able to get more if you want. And with Moonlight always being full, the food is constantly being replaced with fresh stuff. That's always good. I may be moving to O'boro if I can't find a job he...

I don't mind if anyone removes their cat. It's theirs to remove. I just wanted to point out that you can get nearly the same gains from a good aftermarket cat as you can with a straight pipe. I'm sure the Magnaflow cat would cost less than the fine and/or impound fees.

There may be no tests, but it is still illegal. FEDERAL EMISSIONS LAWS. You may never get caught if you use a bad cat, but not having a cat doesn't take a emissions test to figure out.

I wouldn't get rid of the cat. You risk major fines and getting the car impounded. I just read an article in the October issue of Import Tuner where they did a dyno test on a stock cat, two aftermarket cats, and a straight pipe. The straight pipe only netted a 5hp gain and a gain of 3ft/lb torque. I...
