Re: Cargo space fastners? (Mavrik)

I got a piece of grey carpet from Lowes for less than 20 bucks with rubber backing. I cut it to fit the entire back area with the seats folded down. It's fine if you leave the seats down. But when you fold the seats back up, then it flops over. So, you need a way to attach the carpet to the cargo are...

Re: ? about using the cruise control and the downshifting (JohnC)

When I see a hill coming up and have the cruise on, I will step on the the gas pedal to speed up 5 mph or so before the car starts climbing. Then I just keep the gas pedal at constant level while the car naturally slows down and the cruise takes over again. Usually can avoid the downshifting that way.

If the tree limbs are overhanging your property, you can legally cut them down (but not in a way that is detrimental to the health of the tree).

Most number people ever riding in your Vibe

Last weekend I went to the beach with some family. I had six people in the car (two in front, three in back, and one kid in the cargo area). What's the most number of people you ever have had in your Vibe?

Re: First click at pump pretty consistent? (zionzr2)

Many gas stations have gotten rid of the lock on the gas pump handles for safety reasons. It may be a law in some areas? It is not a good idea to defeat it by sticking something in there (like a gas cap).On a similar topic, anyone else concerned about the chintzy gas cap on the Vibe?

Then there must be a lot of people missing their members.Cons: Added Weight Added Cost (~ $2000) Added maintenance cost down the road Lower gas mileageSave the money and get a decent set of snow tires if you really have problems in the winter. Most highways are plowed and sand/salted sufficiently (so...

Considering all the SUVs I see in the ditch in the winter - I think AWD gives people a false sense of security. It only helps move the car - not with stopping or steering.

Are Vibes more prone to roll-over because of a high center of gravity (c.g.)?

Re: AUX on CD Player (velma)

You could try one of those FM modulators that plug into the cig lighter.P.S. You won't get surround sound - just stereo (left/right).

Re: (mcgusto82)

Theoretically, you could use your existing receiver and just mount a dish on the roof. Though, it would only work if you weren't moving (since the dish needs to be aimed fairly precisely at the satellite).

Re: Newbie - Just about to buy a Vibe! Conquest rebate question? (mexigrl)

I bought my Vibe last month and got the Conquest rebate. I didn't need to trade-in my other (non-GM) car - they just needed to copy my registration. I ended up selling my other car on my own.If you can get the Employee pricing plus the rebates - that would be sweet!

questions from new owner

Hello again. I've been driving my new Vibe for about a week and everything seems good so far.One thing I notice is the lack of pep. Driving up any kind of steep grade and the car quickly slows down to 40 MPH (from 60 MPH).I made the mistake of having the cruise control on while on a hilly road (Taco...
