Re: (northvibe)

Thanks! Any other advice or details would be awesome... I am new at do-it-yourself car repair, so keep that in mind. But the work I've seen on this forum inspired me.

Replace Driver side mirror: Help!

Hi all,Someone stole my driver side mirror on the streets of NYC, and they ripped it out along with the blue clips, etc. It's also hanging off a bit. Very odd. Any ways, I ordered a new one and I want to put it in myself.I see a lot of people say "it's easy" and "it takes 10 minutes&q...

Re: (ragingfish)

By the way, there is one rather annoying way to get around the large intervals if they bother you that much. You can turn down your levels to the minimum (bass, treble, mid) and then you have a much finer control with the volume switch. However, you have no control over your levels then. just a thou...

Re: Large Volume intervals and hiss on M&T (MadBill)

Ha ha. Yeah. So, i'm not the only one annoyed by this. Do you have a hissing noise? (it's not too loud.. but loud enough to be annoying) One way to test it is to turn the balance on the radio all the way to one side, say the right, and listen to the left speaker. I can clearly hear an annoying hiss ...

Large Volume intervals and hiss on M&T

Greetings,I have read about a hiss in the speakers on M&T systems in some 2003 posts. But, mine is a 2005. Do people still experience a hiss. You can hear it in the speakers even when a cd is between songs of if there is no other sound (but not when the radio is off). I assume its from the amp, ...

Re: Cigarette lighter wiring question? (esjones)

I thought so too. Thanks for confirming. It is very strange. When you open up the lighter in the vibe, the markings are reversed on it, or at least in mine they were? It says right on a metal tab coming off the "shell" 12V. And it says 0V on a tab touching the middle. grrr.. ben

Cigarette lighter wiring question?

So I hooked up an FM modulator on my vibe, and tapped power and ground from the cig lighter. But I blew a few fuses along the way.My question is on a cig lighter, is the center inside 12V or the outside "shell" (the part you can see sticking out)? According to the markings on the lighter i...

Re: FM Modulator Help (Kari)

Thanks for the response Kari. One question... The glove box is all the way to the right, but the radio and storage bin is in the middle. DO you just pull that out simply so you can reach in there to run the wire straight down, or am I missing something. Any more advice before I do this would be great...

FM Modulator Help

Hi all,Just got my Vibe last week. I'm very excited. I was wondering if someone can give me a pointer on how to install the FM modulator. This post:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=11993has pictures but does not really say much about how to install it. I figured out how to get the stereo out,...

Re: (GMJAP)

Thanks for the response. That's what I was worried about. So, my only hope is an FM modulator, right? I've seen some posts on here about them, and I'm a newbie to this stuff, but I am guessing I could install myself?

I'm confused. I have a 6CD M&T package in a 2005. Why can't I use the 12pin port to hook up ipod2car or something similar. Every one always posts that you cannot do it, but I was wondering if any one has any idea why and if that has been confirmed.

Re: (04kvibe)

I want to know too! I called and they said it would work fine with the indash changer on the 2005 vibe. You just hook it up to the 12 pin in the back. But I am waiting for confirmation before I buy it too.

Bike rack help again!

Hi all, just got a 2005 vibe. I'm looking at bike racks: 12497223 or 12495021I was wondering if any one knows how many of each can go on the roof? I am guessing two of the fork ones but I have no idea how many of the other can go up there. In all the pictures, there is only one. I'd love other people...
