Replace Driver side mirror: Help!

Post by benwellington »

Hi all,Someone stole my driver side mirror on the streets of NYC, and they ripped it out along with the blue clips, etc. It's also hanging off a bit. Very odd. Any ways, I ordered a new one and I want to put it in myself.I see a lot of people say "it's easy" and "it takes 10 minutes" in these posts, but I have searched for a description of how to do this with no luck. The only descriptions I have seen are for changing the glass part, not the whole mirror.Any pointers or advide would be MOST appreciated!!Thanks a lot!Ben

on the inside you need to pop off where that tweeter is (the triangle thing) which might involve the apillar removal. ive never done this but its how i did it on my taurus. After that triangle piece is off there should be bolts to take the mirror off. and the new one should slide on, clip in and bolt up.

Thanks! Any other advice or details would be awesome... I am new at do-it-yourself car repair, so keep that in mind. But the work I've seen on this forum inspired me.
