Engine Compartment Fuse Box Replacement

I have a 2003 Vibe. It has low miles but recently got banged up in the left front corner. Besides the lights, hood and fender the fuse box is now bent at a 90 degree angle. The car is driveable and I can rig up some lights. That fuse box looks like it could cause a problem though. A number of years ...

Re: finding replacent Right Front CV axle

All I see is it is an obsolete number and I don't see any replacement numbers given or cross references, etc.

Same with the GM PN

finding replacent Right Front CV axle

I've bought two axles from two different places and neither fit. I have a 2003, base, automatic without ABS. Here is the old one that was in the car https://photos.app.goo.gl/ejdRzePzjnrLKn9a9 . There are some stickers on it that have the number TF2172A0237 printed on it, here is a picture of that: ...

Re: Noise/Vibraation, Failure

Maybe it was two things. The CV joint on one side and all the vibration caused the lug nuts to get loose and then if the wheel got wobbly enough it may have pulled the studs out or sheared them off? Other than being embarrassed because I would have been the one that didn't properly tighten down the ...

Noise/Vibraation, Failure

I had a noise and vibration up until last night. It seemed to be coming from the right front. It wasn't a flat and I knew all the components on that side were new except the tie rod end. I was thinking maybe a wheel weight came off or a tire de-laminating. I mainly noticed it going straight, not cli...

Re: Frigid Weather Ignition Lock Seems to be Frozen, Literally

I tried warming the car up the first day. I didn't get started until afternoon The first hour of that did noting as it was so cold the extension cord got very stiff and in brushing by it pulled out of receptacle. Did plug it in later but abandoned that task on that day. I did more searching and foun...

Frigid Weather Ignition Lock Seems to be Frozen, Literally

I have 2003 Vibe. I assume this would be the same thing for a Matrix Corolla and many others. It is very cold. I ran the car last night with no problems. I park on the street where it is flat. Because of all the snow I sort of rammed into some deep snow and went back and forth a little so I would be...

AC Combo Switch Connection with Control Cable for Defrost

The control cable is off of the combo switch on my 2003. I had to remove the bezel a few times to get at some things on the back of the radio. I thought maybe I just forgot to hook it back up. I also had to replace the bezel as enough of the mounting tabs broke off it that it no longer stays in plac...

Replacement Retainer Clips for Pontiac Vibe Radio Bezel (03)

I have taken the bezel on and off a few times, replaced radios, had to get to wires, etc. The clips break and that is the case now. In the past they have been easy to find locally and cheap at a junkyard. Today I looked and there were none to be found. They had already been removed. They are availab...

Replacing Brake Lines from Back All the Wy to the Proportioning Valve

I had the rear metals lines on both sides rust out. I figured I'd replace the short rubber hose sections too. However the fitting from there to the front of the cars all also corroded and the flare wrench just rounds off the fitting. So I'd like to replace the section that goes to the proportioning ...

Re: AMP CIRCUIT IN ENGINE FUSE BOX

I looked around online and inside the engine compartment. I found a post about a grommet in the firewall with a lot of wires passing through it. The post was about pulling a wire into the engine compartment for an amp: https://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=38853 They posted a labeled pic...

AMP CIRCUIT IN ENGINE FUSE BOX

The engine fuse box diagram shows there is and AMP fuse in the engine fuse box of a 2003 to 2005 Pontiac Vibe. Is there wiring for this circuit in cars that didn't come with a factory amp under the passenger seat that you can connect to somewhere? If not how to run the wire and connect to this circu...

Re: Grounded +12V From PCM - Cascading Things Not Working

The receiver works fine, but had less power than the stock radio. It would clip on certain songs with a lot of bass. ( could also hear some higher pitched ringing, but between allergies and ear wax I had ringing all the time. Got the ears cleaned. I was taking the radio in and out because I was inst...

Re: Grounded +12V From PCM - Cascading Things Not Working

I guess I got it all figured out. The battery going bad was just a coincidence. I measured the voltage and it was 11.8 which most likely means a bad cell. I replaced it and all is well. I also used the suggestions I posted from elsewhere. The dome light did work as did the rear tail lights, the brak...

Re: Grounded +12V From PCM - Cascading Things Not Working

A couple things, a detail and maybe a clue or simply a coincidence: The car is a 2003 Vibe. This evening I checked and I did have at least the top tail lights lit up when it was running and I turned on the headlights. I checked and I did have at least the top tail lights lit up. I noticed that when ...

Grounded +12V From PCM - Cascading Things Not Working

I was putting a receiver in and out a few times on another issue. A number of wires for other things got disconnected. One of them was the +12V wire from the PCM that powered and turned on and signaled the receiver that the car was in reverse so it switched the screen to display the image from the c...

2003 Headlight Issue

I had a 2005 vibe and recently got a 2003 to replace it as it was totaled. So I am familiar with them, but this is a new problem for me. The 2003 was low mileage and everything was fine until last night. I realized both my headlights (high and low beam and fog lights were not working. I knew the wer...

What is the bottom blank for in the AC Control in the AC/Radio Bezel For?

I have a 2005 Pontiac Vibe and would like to install a switch for something and do it in a neat way. I see that on my Vibe there is a blank filling in the cutout on the AC Control/Radio bezel. I imagine that this blank is removed and replaced with something like a switch for some optional or other m...

Cargo Area Shade

I just got a used 2005 Vibe. It was missing the cargo security shade. From what I read the OEM one isn't very good and I'd be better off making one myself. I've seen some pictures of some people have made here and on the web. Does anyone have an actual template or scale drawing (CAD or otherwise) fo...
