Re: (GMJAP)

This anti theft code does apply to the XM radio. There is reference to this in the manual and the GM service dealer told me that if the battery is discharged or disconnected that the dealer has to get a specific code and proceedure for the specific radio and then they need approxametly an hour or mo...

Re: (GMJAP)

Do you still have kits? My only concern is disconnecting the Negative terminal of the battery. I have the XM radio with the Moon and Tunes option and if it looses power, the radio security code will have to be reset and it has to be done by a GM Dealer who charges a lot for the service.I have added ...

Horn does not Beep when using the remote to lock the doors

I have a 2005 Vibe AWD that does not have the optional security system. The remote does not have a panic button. Is there a way to have the horn beep or chirp when locking the doors using the remote?

I used a 30 amp fuse inline with a 12 guage wire to connect the relay to the positive terminal of the battery. I connected the ground terminal of the relay to a ground source. I tucked and tie wrapped the relay between the left side of the car and the battery. I connected three separate 14 guage wir...

Re: (keithvibe)

Nice Job. I mounted my fiam Freeway Blasters (130 Decibels each) on the origional bolt. I used a 30 Amp relay activated by the origional horn wire. I also mounted the origional horn facing down using the metric threaded hole next to the yellow caution sticker on top of the radiator cover. All three ...

Re: Horn Installation Walk Through (jeffgtx)

I mounted a pair of Fiam Freeway Blasters the same way on my 2005 Vibe. If you notice the hole on the top of the radiator cover just to the right of the horns ( the left side of the car), it is tapped and I used a metric bolt to mount the origional horn there. I now have a three tone horn that sound...

The service person told me that the only warranty that would be affected would be the warranty on the seats and whatever systems that the seat sensors would affect. However I would think that if factory approved parts are installed buy the dealer that technically the warranty would still be applicab...

The Leather Interior package includes leather armrests in the door pannels and Leather wrapped steering wheel. I was advised to not switch the steering wheel. The only disadvantage to swaping is that the passenger seat has a weight sensor that affects the airbag deployment. If anything should happen ...

I'm not sure about the other parts being leather. There may be door panels and a leather wrapped steering wheel. So far my friend is interested in getting of the leather and having the cloth seats. If she wants to transfer anything else, I will research it and probably do it. I plan to go to the dea...

Thank you. To insure that the swap is done properly, I told her that we could take both vehicles back to the GM Superstore where we bought them and have the service department swap the seats.

Seats - Transfering between a 05 Base Vibe and a 05 AWD Vibe

A friend bought a 05 Base vibe with leather interior. She wants to have a cloth interior. I have an 05 AWD Vibe with the cloth interior. She would like to swap seats. Except for the seats and the AWD, both cars have identical equipment. Does anyone know if the front and rear seats are directly inter...

You can order the the GM Cover #88971514 and the Receptical # 889715515, It snaps in to the console. You will have to cut the connector on the wiring which is under the console and make your own connector and wire them to the back of the power receptical. The Blue/yellow wire is +12V. The White/Blac...

I have found that the lights that go on with the door opening will go out after a few minutes if the door is left open. This is not the case with the separate switched light that comes with the moonroof option. That light is not connected with the door light switch.

One thing I forgot to mention, If youhave the map lights on the door light circuit, you also have the option of turning them on with the doors closed. You have to be careful to make sure the switches on the mirror are turned off when you exit the vehicle. Otherwise the lights will remain on when the...

Re: 03 Vibe and 03 Matrix XR, which one should I go for? (fch)

I have an 05 Vibe with AWD and Antilock brakes. Although gas milage is not as good as a standard transmission basic model, the gas milage is not bad for an AWD. In you climate I would only want AWD and definitly Antilock brakes. You will have much more control with that combination.A GT is nice but ...

Re: Horn Installation Walk Through (ragingfish)

This forum is great! After reading several posts, I installed a pair of Fiaam Freeway Blasters using a separate relay activated by the origional horn wire. I mounted the horns at the origional location with a longer bolt. There is a threaded bolt hole on the cover above the radiator that I used to r...
