They specifically told me they didn't replace the bearings, but that they would do so for only the cost of the bearings (no labor cost) if I continued to hear the noise. So, sounds pretty clear what needs to be done.Thanks guys.

Turns out the $25 quote from the Pontiac dealer was for the whole blade assembly, not just the rubber insert. Here's a picture of the Alpine MRP-M350 in the Vibe's spare tire well. It fits perfectly. I don't have it screwed down or anything - it just stays put. All the wires go through the hole in the bottom; I didn't do anything destructive.
