Last road trip I took (1200km) I managed to get 6.9L/100km (40mpg) with a full load and the A/C on. With 5 passengers and a full hatch, there were times when I wanted to accelerate but found the accelerator already floored...nonetheless, that kind've mileage with that load really impressed me!

My pleasure Boxgrover. I'd recommend Dave's shop to anyone in the GTA; he's good at what he does and really takes care of his customers. The car doesn't move down a "production line" ala Krown, so Dave (the applier) knows exactly whats been sprayed or not.Highly recommended to everyone.

Yes, TRD, the film was transparent when it was originally applied. Unfortunately, I don't remember the make of the film, as it was applied almost 8 years ago!Recap: not all films/adhesives are created equal; have the film replaced/removed if its condition appears to be deteriorating.

'nother angle:The grey spot you see on the lower RHS is the result of me taking a heat gun and trying to remove the film; the film came off, but not without taking off the paint. That's sheet metal you see!

Gotta be careful with these films guys. We had one professionally applied to our Altima, and after 2 years, the film cracked and dried up. In doing so, it made the film impossible to remove as it is permanently adhered to the car's paint. Only way to remove it is to sand it off! I'll post some pics ...

Those are two really different vehicles that you have selected as your "finalists." But have you considered an Optra5? Its a nice in between of the two cars...not quite a wagon, not quite a sedan. It makes decent power, has a nicely finished interior and has more cargo versatility than Ion...

In addition to the Vibe, we've got an Acura Integra, a Nissan Altima and a Honda Civic at home. In other words, one car from each major japanese manufacturer (since the Vibe is Corolla based) The Vibe is actually our first GM branded car!

Some wheelspin, particularly in a high revving, torque defficient motor, will be necessary to keep the engine from bogging down once the clutch is fully released. You really have to balance the amount of wheelspin vs keeping the engine in its powerband in order to get a good launch...
