Good Road Trip Mileage!

Post by B18B »

Just got back from a 1100km road trip up to the nation's capital this past weekend, and I am happy to report that I got outstanding gas mileage from the Vibe (non-modified 4AT, OEM Contis, 52000kms on the clock). I know there have been quite a few posts ranting about the Vibe's fuel economy, but I thought I'd share a post someting positive about the car's fuel consumption:Best: 6.8L/100km (~41mpg) (100% highway, no wind, 20 celsius, 120km/h set on CC, no A/C)Worst: 7.8L/100km (~36mpg) (80/20 Hwy/City, no wind, 34 celsius, 120km/h set on CC, A/C on)Overall: 7.4L/100 km (~39mpg)I believe the car is rated for 6.4L/100km on the hwy, which I *think* I might have been able to pull off if I had the CC set on 100km/h...but 120km/h was already an excercise in self restraint....

My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
