Most cars use a common electrical solenoid to unlock or lock the transmission selector in Park. The solenoid is energised when the ignition key is turned or when the brake pedal is depressed. Since I don't own a Vibe anymore, maybe someone who doesn't have their button covered up can try pressing it...

The caliper isn't going to be the same after chemical discoloration without replacement or painting. There is no clear coat I am aware of that would hold up to the high temperatures.

Most mechanical and electrical parts are Toyota. Trim and body parts are GM. OEM glass suppliers also supply the aftermarket although it may take some time to fill the parts pipeline since there is still a backlog of orders for new Matrices and Vibes.
