You are going to have to either have it steam cleaned, or flush all the soap out with clear water. You can use a wetvac and a garden hose. Any soap that you leave in the foam pad will cme back and show/attract dirt to it.

Fall is the best, winters comes in second. MI springs are to wet, Summers to hot. But his is Michigan, you just need to wait 5 minutes and the weather will change again. I've seen snow in June, and 70 deg F. in February. Fall is perfect it is dry, cool and there is nothing like a long walk in the wo...

The 120v potential could make a mess of the wiring if it did short. I would bet that if someone were to find a wireing diagram for the circuit they would find the 120 fully isolated.

Here is another low cost alternative for OBD monitoring, and resetting CELs http://www.obddiagnostics.com And as a note the Vibe uses the ISO 9141 protocol, not VPW like the other Pontiacs.
