Applebee's after the Michigan Meet

Post by Triton »

Last year after the meet, a bunch of us went over to Applebee's to eat and socialize. I have been talking with rasermon and we thought that it would be a good idea to go there again. The Applebee's is just down the road from the dealership. It is a good option for those not going to Dave & Busters after the meet. With how early we will be going there, we should beat the dinner rush and have plenty of room. Anyone and everyone is invited.

everyone has been to an applebee's. how about we show the out-of towners some local flavor at joe & lewie's penalty box? it's a detroit red wings themed sports bar/eatery that just opened in april.here's a write-up from the free press:http://www.freep.com/entertain...3.htm

That sounds really cool blake31! That would be ideal. Thanks for the great idea. We should definitely do it there instead. I will talk with rasermon about this.

This is not to interfere with the plans already made for those going to Dave & Buster's. I personally did not feel like travelling down to the Detroit area to go eat. I know a lot of out of towners are staying the night so it was no big deal for them to go somewhere else. I want to go home after the meet and dinner, which would be sometime around the time everyone will be at Dave & Buster's. This is just presented as an option for other who did not want to go down to the Detroit area. I know you guys will have fun down there as we will there in Fenton.

Drink: Twenty-six beers, 11 of them on tap, including Bell's and Guiness ($3.50 to $5.25 ); a standard lineup of 7 wines ($7 a glass) and a bevy of frozen, fruity concoctions, including Joe's Knockout Punch, a 22-ounce glass of Hurricane mix ($6). Food: The extensive menu ranges from expected bar fare -- nachos, potato skins, burgers ($6.50-$8) and pizza -- to such unexpectedly sophisticated offerings as pan-fried oysters ($8) and smoked chicken quesadillas ($7.50), applewood smoked ribs and chicken ($9-$14), prime rib ($13-$17) and blue cheese peppercorn steak ($15).

I know you guys will have fun down there as we will there in Fenton. i'm just merely saying that if someone had offered other suggestions say last month or so when we started to ask everyone there in the area for after meet things to do, it would have been nice. the reason us out of towners are coming is to get to meet everyone and what an opportunity that would have been to get to know one another better! i purchased and confirmed my tickets to MI back in late Feb/early March.... there has been a lot of planning done by us out of towners... look in the events section... from room and board to polls on after meet events. so input would have been welcome at an earlier date when we all asked. it would have fine w/ us to have stayed in fenton after the meet too. but no one mentioned or suggested it that i recall.perhaps next time (if there is a next time for me) you might want to suggest this MUCH MUCH earlier so people can make a little more planning in advance. I'm not from MI, so i have no idea where Fenton even is!

Hope, this is just to get something to eat and have a soda pop or beer before we all take off home after the meet. I was planning on staying the night, but have a nephew's grad party the next day. Other wise I would be going out with you guys and tear down some of the clubs.

Don't get all twitterpated...not everyone is staying 40 some miles away from the dealership so, as Aaron pointed out, traveling to Detroit is the last thing I want to do. I live about 1 mile from a Dave and Busters, so that sure doesn't interest me...knock on the extra driving time and miles, no thanks. Since we ate at Applebee's last year, I assumed a lot of people would be doing the same thing again...if not, oh well, drinks with (removed) at the Best Western! But the new suggested place sounds GREAT!

I see where you are coming from, but there was no intention to undermine the good plans you made, Hope. As last year, people came and went as they pleased, some had plans to stay but left, it's a last minute thing for alot of people. There will be alot of people at the rally so I'm sure there will be more that will want to head on up with you that didn't even express interest on the forums. Either way everyone will have a great time.OT, the weather looks mostly sunny and low 70s - perfect!

you are all misinterpretting my post... i am saying next time, please suggest this much more in advance so those coming from out of town will know. obviously i was not at the one last year... so how the hell did i know you went to applebees? all i was pointing out was it would have been nice for someone to mention this back last month or so when we were asking. i think rob and desegundo were the only ones that responded from the MI area. nothing more. i would have liked to come. but now i have non-refundable reservations and a contract. that was signed and sent in on TUESDAY (2 days ago).please, for the record, just suggest this a little earlier than 2 days prior... that is all!can't wait for this weekend! whoo hoo!!!*edit* and btw, i don't believe ANYONE to be undermining my plans. LOL. but was hoping we could do something w/ more people involved... had i known about this, we would have gone with everyone else.

i mentioned fenton hotels a couple of times a few months ago, http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=9097but i also said that if you were looking for good nightclubs, you'd probably have to look toward pontiac (and i posted some info to help people to research clubs in the area).http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...09239that's when someone suggested staying in auburn hills.whatever, i figured there would be a group of prople who'd head out to the clubs, and then there'd be a group of people who would just hang around the fenton area, so this was the option for them.weather looks nice for this weekend! mid 70's ands sunny!see ya tomorrow.

If this place is really cool, we will set it up for next year to book it after the meet so that we have plans well ahead of time. My post was not to cause confusion or frustration but it was just to offer an alternative. Regardless, everyone will have fun during and after the meet. Next year it will be even better because all of us will try and head to the same place afterward.Looking forward to tomorrow!

(which we ended up going to big bucks and getting toasted.. ok, i got toasted, don't know about anyone else. )
