I have approx 13,000 miles (21,000 KM) I average 21 miles per gallon or 11 litres per 100 Km. It's been quite consistently at that rate since I bought it new. 04 Base Vibe, with aluminium wheels, power moonroof.

Has anyone done this or does anyone know how to re-wire the air conditioner so the compressor is not engaged when the climate control system is set on defrost?

Went to the dealer today... Figuring I had nothing to loose, asked nicely and impressed upon them the that the car was still under a year old. The service advisor has to verify with his manager, long story short they agreed to replace the carpet mats this time around.I'm a happy camper.

Front Windshield on 04 Vibe

Has anyone noticed that the black edge trim on the windshield next to the pillar on the driver side is a solid line. The window edge trim on the passenger pillar side, however is graduated. It's made up of small dots that gradually increase in size/volume and go to solid black. Does anybody have any...

Re: Illumination on 115V switch & cigarette lighter, window switch (ColonelPanic)

Scan your file and go see a sign maker. He can have vinyl cut that you could apply. It would be more opaque than an inkjet over tranny material. You could also get a virgin piece of plastic, cut and shape to the one from the vibe and apply the vinyl lettering to it.Shouldn't cost too much

Floor Mats Warranty (carpet fibers coming off)

My Floor mats are only 8 months old. (15,000 KMS) and the driver mat fibers are coming apart from the carpet. I have a small hole approx 1" wide by 1/4" tall where I can see the carpet backing. It's where my right heal rests on the floor. Has anyone else experienced such a problem? Have yo...

Re: How often do you change your oil?? (sensfanrk)

Every 5,000 Km weather it needs it or not... Oil is the blood of your car. If you change it regularly your engine can last a long time. It's a small price to pay for peace of mind.

I use white lithium grease. It does not run like WD-40 does. It also sticks to the parts for much longer. It is also useful in preventing corrosion on batter terminals. That is what my Toyota dealer used to spray on my Tercel. I have used it ever since. It works great. You can buy it at Home Depot o...

I use Autoglym (www.autoglym.com) recommended to me by a car collector. He also suggested to only wax 1-2x per year. Apply and buff by hand. Do small sections at a time. The detail shop at the dealer also told me that they usually tape up cars with painters tape before waxing. This prevents problems...

Re: What Accessories Would You Want To See GM Make For The Vibe? (ragingfish)

1. A doggie fence or net that would go behind the rear seats, to prevent the animal to jump over the seats and come forward.2. a rubber carpet for the cargo area, made of rubber (non slip rubber)3. a comprehensive parts/repair manual

I would like to see doggie fence developed for the vibe (similar to what volvo offers) to keep the pooches behind the back seats or to keep the cargo from falling forward onto rear seats.
