Re: sudden decrease in fuel mileage (vibe-a-licious)

If they use as much salt on the roads up there as they do here in western NY, it could be an issue with the brakes dragging due to corrosion. I've had a number of cars with rear discs develop this problem, and if you don't get the calipers cleaned and lubed every year or two, it'll both decrease you...

Honestly, if the Vibe disappeared tomorrow and I had to replace it with something, it would be a Dodge Caliber. I actually like the looks of the thing, and it has the same features as the Vibe that I consider necessary....5-door hatchback, folding front passenger seat, and manual transmission. Reliab...

Review: Sherwood Innovations dash kit

I picked up my '09 Vibe back in February, and though it's has many positive features, the interior quality really isn't one of them. The wide expanse of silver painted plastic didn't really do much for me, so I started looking around for something that would spruce up the car's appearance. After loo...

Just bought an '09 GT myself, and had the same issue with you regarding snow tires. Ended up ordering a set of 16" General Altimax Arctic snow tires from TireRack mounted on some cheap MSW alloy rims. Originally ordered them on steel rims, but TireRack was sold out for the season, so they gave ...

Lowe's sells a 4x3 ribbed charcoal indoor/outdoor floor mat that works great for this, and costs less than $16. I just turned one into a cargo mat for my '09 GT. Made a template using some large sheets of paper, traced it onto the mat, cut it, and had a nice cargo mat. Can post pics if you like.

Yeah, I hope this one lasts longer too. As for mats, I ordered a set of Weathertech mats on Friday...they seemed the best in terms of ability to hold snow and ice in place (we get lots of it here in western NY). I'll definitely need to scare up some carpeted mats for the warm weather though.

If you don't need to access the iPod adapter thing, you can simply attach it to the top of the head unit....there's TONS of space in the dash for the radio and accessories. This is what I did for the JVC FM transmitter I bought to connect my iPod. I ran a 6 foot long Mini-DIN cable from the transmit...

For what it's worth, Volkswagens use the same type of antenna as the Vibe (called a "Fuba" antenna). There's actually an amplifier between the antenna mast and the radio to boost the signal the antenna picks up. Failure of the amplifier is VERY common in VWs (and it failed in my Passat too...
