I noticed that amsoil atf seems to be the only synthetic atf claiming to meet the type t-iv rating. Is it actually certified to work in our transmissions? But the tires were pretty close to the recommended pressure(32psi). a couple of them were actually dead on.

Ok, I have made an observation. Previously, with my continental tires, I observed a maximum fuel economy of 30mpg. This was babying the car and rarely going over 4k rpms. I've skipped gears going up and down on my previous cars with no problems whatsoever. You just have to be careful when dong so downward so that you don't downshift past the redline.--Matt

I just checked my voicemail. It appears as though toyota is willing to replace one pair of the tires, for $120+mount and ballance. So ugh. I found someone selling some 16" alloys with yokohama A550(V4) tires on them for $250 shipped. Hopefully those will work better.--Matt

I dunno about the Vibe GT but my matrix looks like it 1-3/4 or 1-7/8". I'd say 2" inlet/outlet would do well. And if you want a really nice glasspack that will sound hellabad check out the magnaflow magnapacks.--Matt

You gotta have a resonator on the car if you have a cherry bomb. The sound will be unbearably loud otherwise. Read "you will want to kill yourself if you have just a glasspack and no resonator!"--Matt

I think cherry bombs sounce nice on 4-cylinders. I had one on my saturn, my friend has one on his honda. They, allong with a resonaor, make a nice deep rumble. And they are CHEAP! Best of luck to ya.--Matt

I dunno, the vast majority of large diesel trucks you see on the road have drum brakes. I'm of the school that either technology is as good as the other when done correctly in it's application.--Matt

There is no reason at all for a clutch to have that short of a life. The clutch on my saturn(ran 15.8 in the 1/4) lasted to 183k miles. And it wasn't driven gently either. Granted most of those were highway miles but 30k --Matt

I consistantly get between 25 and 30mpg in my auto Matrix XR. the most I've seen is 33mpg on a 400 mile trip, all highway no AC or defroster. The EPA ratings are really for comparison purposes only. I think once I swap a 6-speed manual transmission onto my car the highway mileage should get better.-...

I like dynomax mufflers. Their SuperTurbo mufflers flow quite a bit better than stock but maintain a nice mild tone. And the UltraFlow mufflers have outstanding flow allong with a nice mellow tone.--Matt
