Re: Time to Replace the stock battery (jake75)

As if on queue, OEM died today. Costco unit is now 64.99. Still a good deal, and yes they waive the core fee when you bring the old with you. In fact, I just told 'em I had it with me (which I did). Just plopped it in the tire bay with all of the other dead units. Cranks way 'mo better now. Perfect ...

Out with those shortlived SS, in with the hawks. Too much daylight this time of year so have not been able to put them to the true test. Looks good in the garage though

Agree, I keep a pair of Z chains around, they work great and are fast and easy to install. A bit pricy, but I buy mine in the spring when they are moving them out

That was going to be my next mod! Thanks for the head start. Any Pics? My other thought was to hunt for the beeper and add a bit of 200 mph tape (duct) to mute it a bit

Re: Intake Vacuum Lines (silverawd26)

Dealer replaced the whole assembly, was relatively painless. They were a bit suspicious about how it broke, but did not hassel me. Took less than a week to get the part and they installed it in no time at all. Decent dealer experience considering that I did not purchase the vehicle there.Seems to ru...

Re: Ride Quality (silverawd26)

Yep, the tires, esp with the 55 profile, not much flex there to absorb the minor imperfections in the road. I notice it is very good at transmitting the feel of the exposed aggregate in the concrete pavement around here. Not a bad thing though, ride and handling are great for a wagon.

Factory Alarm Module

Does the factory alarm module simply plug into a pin connector? I have the power package, but not the security option. I was thinking this might be an easy way to install at least a minimal system, without having to get the soldering iron out.I know my Ford f150 came "prewired" from the fa...

Took another look under the light of day, looks like the side of the air cleaner housing serves as a vacuum reservoir for the vsv, and it will be easy to epoxy up the old hole and tap a new fitting into the side.

Hey Nova, good pic, but my busted line is from the top half of the filter box, on the same side as the valve in your pic. Looks like it might help regulate the valve, maybe helping to close it? It has a male fitting for the vac line, but that's the part that is busted. Not enough of it left to put t...

Intake Vacuum Lines

Bought this Vibe used and have had it a couple of weeks. I was checking the air filter and noticed a vac line with a broken end. Did not think that was doing much good. Traced it down and it was busted from the back of the air cleaner housing. It T's off from the vac line from the TB housing that ha...
