Re: Oil on Upholstery!!!!!! (silverawd26)

Try brown paper back with an iron on low heat...sounds crazy but it removed most of my surfboard wax on previous car. Paper bag acts as a sponge and pulls up oil...keep applying fresh bag surface as it gets dirty. This might help pull majoity out before you use a real cleaning product.

Last year Car and Driver did a piece on upgrades and they basically rated/tested kits and then a stock set with new pads. For the money, new upgraded pads are tough to beat for a typical car owner.

Re: Roof Rack Question (silverawd26)

I bought Thule 751xt since it is super easy/quick to install, lock and remove after use. 525xt for mountain bike, and 554 surfboard carrier. So far so good except for center mount intenna getting pushed to side when I grab one of my longer surfboards on smaller days.

I took off the bars since they were useless for carrying surfboards. I had to add an aftermarket rack (Thule) that grabs the silver bars so all the factory cross bars did was make it hard to wash and collect mositure where my car cover sagged....

Rattle in dash to left of cluster, behind dash vent maybe

I have seen posts of squeeks from gauge cluster but my noise almost sounds like it is behind left hand side dash air vent. Has anyone else had this? I had to mount rear tweeters in door by cutting much smaller holes than you'll need. Dremel should work well and you'll have template. Problem for you will be having firm material behind speakers. You may need to build a spacer so plastic panel doesn't flex in as you tighten self tapping screws. Goo...

No problem! Adding tweeters is very easy. Just follow template and cut out holes for mounting in plastic pieces in window corner. Or just drill small hole for speaker wire and surface mount tweeter. I have done this on a few cars and it is fool proof. Buy good component system with 6.5" woofer ...
