Re: Sold my Vibe - garage clean out sale!

Thanks for the purchases everyone! :D

Still have a brand new water pump! Surely someone would need this soon!

Roof racks I guess are destined for the scrap yard.

Re: Sold my Vibe - garage clean out sale!

Yea, hope these are all good deals. Just trying to pass this stuff along so someone gets use out of them. I actually picked up a 2005 Bonneville GXP. It was headed to auction, so I worked a deal for $3,500. Needs a power steering hose fix and that's it really. It has 150k miles, but is in immaculate...

Sold my Vibe - garage clean out sale!

Well, a good deal came my way for another Pontiac and I ended up trading in my 2005 Vibe with 173k miles. I had that little car for 10 years... and it performed great... and I certainly drove it like I stole it! So I no longer have a need for these items below, and I hope someone can benefit. These ...

WTB: '05 HOOD LATCH

I need a hood latch for my 2005 Vibe DD. The secondary works, but my primary won't grab the hood anymore.

Anyone have one? Was hoping to get one cheap and quickly.

Please PM me or text me at 269-832-0194.

Ship to 29680 South Carolina.

Help, 05 vibe steering pulls bad

Looking for what could be the cause... 2005 Vibe has 142k miles and over the last 5k miles, the car pulls all over the place over every bounce, every groove in the road. It's very annoying. Seems to be getting worse. Used to be only at highway speeds, but now even happenning at 40mph over grooves in...

I recently did a month long search for springs. I wanted the sportlines, but could not find them at all.. anywhere. The prokit from Eibach isn't low enough if you ask me.I went with B&G, they lowered around 1.7 front and back. Tightened the handling, but still soft/smooth on general driving. (My...

I would say don't worry about the struts. Changing the springs is a pretty simple job. Just do the springs. Shop around for them though, there are several options. But you may want to call online places to verify they have them. I just went through this and several sites have inaccurate inventories.

Well all the belts I had checked the same, so I coughed up the dough for a new tensioner. That seemed to do the trick, although I still feel it should be a little tighter.Car drives ok, but I do notice the power steering takes more effort at idling speeds. Could that be from underdriving?

I never noticed anything before. 135k on the car, and not really any problems to speak of. I had put on a new belt 10k ago and it had plenty of tension. The only other thing I did is take off the alternator to change that pulley, but there isn't any adjustment there when remounting it.I suppose the ...

Loose drive belt... any adjustment?

I just put on UR underdrive pulleys on the crank and alt. I have the right belt per all instructions. And the new belt is a tad smaller than stock, a very small tad. However, the belt isn't very tight once on the car. In fact it bounced when the car is running in the garage. I fear it will come off ...

The roof rack covers are from RK Sport. They are true carbon fiber. They took a lot of custom trimming to fit nice, but they really make the Vibe look sleeker. I never used the roof racks anyway. Now with 5 years of UV exposure, the clear on them is faded pretty bad. Someday I'll buff and polish the...

Sublimewind.... the only way to know is hit the track man... it's a blast! Most of the time at test n tunes, anything in the mid 12's is pretty much the fastest out there. I'll keep the spacers handy, so if anyone wants them later on, just look me up.

Yes, smaller 15mm spacers on the front. And yes, I have a 2000 WS6! Love it! 12.4 my best 1/4, but I need more traction. I'm afraid of running DRs as the rear may break which is common as you know. I have full bolt ons plus cam, and 3500 Super Yank.

I didn't take many pics, it's just my DD. I think I have one rear view though... I'll look. My wheels are something I got from a friend, 17" but not a name brand or anything. They've done great except for the clear coming off on the outer portions. The tires are 235s 40 series.

Thanks! That's my daily driver. 135k on her since I bought new in '05. The pic shows the rear tires with the 38mm spacers. I love the look and the stance is nice. However I expected the springs to be a little stiffer and limit travel, so I get the occassional tire rub. I'm not trying to hose anyone ...

Didn't see a FS section, but I also didn't look. Our experience is otherwise as to the wheel bearings comment. Yes, it's a base Vibe.Install is simple, bolt up the spacer, then bolt your wheel to the new studs. Couldn't be easier, no lug trimming needed with these.

Just ported and polished my TB!

I took my TB off to do the coolant bypass and decided to port and polish the TB as well. I figured any little bit helps.... but I didn't expect to really feel any difference... But the car is certainly more responsive! The Vibe idles different right now until the car learns the change. I also remove...

FS: wheel spacers 38mm... anyone?

I just lowered my 05 Vibe and added wheel spacers to push out the stance. I put 38mm spacers on the rear, but it makes the tires rub occassionally. Nothing severe, but I also have a 25mm set and I will use those instead. So I will sell the 38mm ones. I bought them for $85, anyone interested for $60 ...

Wow, that was a really simple job. I was suprised how easy and simple it was. I used the B&G springs, with new KYB struts and parts. Looks great, and rides tight. I hope the front settles a little more, because the rear wheel well gap is tighter than the front.

Yeah, I'm hoping to install the B&G's. I have the prokit on my TransAm, and it's the perfect amount of drop, but on the Vibe it just is a little too conservative. Supplier said the B&G shipped, but cannot provide a tracking #, so until I get it... I won't send the Eibach back.I'm changing ou...

TireRack has the Pro-kit. I called all over, but nobody has the Sportlines. In fact, many places said even the Pro-kit was discontinued. I actually also have a B&G spring kit on the way too. Supplier said that order was cancelled, but now said it has shipped and said they changed the order back....

Re: DIY springs? (A Psycho Martyr)

Yeah, I've not been one for cutting springs. I found a write up on a Matrix, so it doesn't look too bad of an install. I've done plenty of engine builds and other suspension, so I'm looking forward to the work. I just ordered a set of Eibach Sportlines, and will now get some shocks too. Also ordered...

DIY springs?

Hey all, I was wondering if someone has a spring install doc available. I wanted to lower my daily driver and get some fun out of the suspension.... but would like to do it myself. My '05 Vibe has almost 140k miles... should I consider struts/shocks too? THANKS!
