Hey all, I was wondering if someone has a spring install doc available. I wanted to lower my daily driver and get some fun out of the suspension.... but would like to do it myself. My '05 Vibe has almost 140k miles... should I consider struts/shocks too? THANKS!

High and welcome...There are DIY's here, you just have to find them... YES, replace EVERYTHING... struts, springs(of your choice Tein S-Tech are the norm) and the strut mounts... The minute you don't replace the mounts, one will go bad, trust me, I know this.. lol..
I've seem quite a few locals try heating their springs or cutting them Needless to say... a LOT of waaaayyyy too bumpy rides. lol...you just see the cars bouncing...literally!If youy're going DIY I'd at least get NEW springs. Like he said, the norm seems to be the Tein
Yeah, I've not been one for cutting springs. I found a write up on a Matrix, so it doesn't look too bad of an install. I've done plenty of engine builds and other suspension, so I'm looking forward to the work. I just ordered a set of Eibach Sportlines, and will now get some shocks too. Also ordered the rear sway bar, even though that may only help a little.

The sportlines are discontinued and I can't find them. Actually many places have long delays on any spring, but I finally found Eibach's at Tirerack. I called up to confirm they had them, and they shipped out the door in 2 hours... amazing!

So did you find the Sportlines at Tire Rack, or did you get the Pro-Kits?

TireRack has the Pro-kit. I called all over, but nobody has the Sportlines. In fact, many places said even the Pro-kit was discontinued. I actually also have a B&G spring kit on the way too. Supplier said that order was cancelled, but now said it has shipped and said they changed the order back. I ordered from Tirerack after I heard the B&G order was cancelled... So I will have to return one kit... I think it will be the Eibachs, as the B&G kit promises a little more drop (1.6" vs the Eibach 1.2")

B&G has a good rep too! I have Pro-Kits on my Civic. Either is an excellent choice.Sounds like I might need to pick up some springs before it is too late. Fortunately, springs for the previous generation Vibe will work on mine (and actually give a shade lower drop), according to those that have done it.

Yeah, I'm hoping to install the B&G's. I have the prokit on my TransAm, and it's the perfect amount of drop, but on the Vibe it just is a little too conservative. Supplier said the B&G shipped, but cannot provide a tracking #, so until I get it... I won't send the Eibach back.I'm changing out struts too, and adding a rear sway so I'm anxious to feel the ride tighten up.

Wow, that was a really simple job. I was suprised how easy and simple it was. I used the B&G springs, with new KYB struts and parts. Looks great, and rides tight. I hope the front settles a little more, because the rear wheel well gap is tighter than the front.
