I just put on UR underdrive pulleys on the crank and alt. I have the right belt per all instructions. And the new belt is a tad smaller than stock, a very small tad. However, the belt isn't very tight once on the car. In fact it bounced when the car is running in the garage. I fear it will come off when driving. Is there any adjustment anywhere to tighten it up a bit?

no there isn't any adjustments.Pryor to the underdrive pullies did you notice a belt noise? How many miles on the car? When was the last time you replaced the tentioner, if ever?

I never noticed anything before. 135k on the car, and not really any problems to speak of. I had put on a new belt 10k ago and it had plenty of tension. The only other thing I did is take off the alternator to change that pulley, but there isn't any adjustment there when remounting it.I suppose the tensioner could have just gone bad right now, but seems unlikely. I have another new belt (bought 2) so I will check that one.

The more you extend the tentioner the more chances it ruins the piston. Depending how many times you moved the tentioner to do the work and mount the new belt it could have pushed over the edge.

Well all the belts I had checked the same, so I coughed up the dough for a new tensioner. That seemed to do the trick, although I still feel it should be a little tighter.Car drives ok, but I do notice the power steering takes more effort at idling speeds. Could that be from underdriving?
