Re: 2003 PONTIAC VIBE GT COMPLETE OUT PART OUT.. WITH PICTUR

Front Passenger side Door? (if the window runs up & Down fine on it's own.) - my buddies is messed up. door looks fine, but the tracks the glass ride in, and the bracketry for the regulator/motor are out of whack. it takes 2 people to raise the window, and keep it in line.. car also needs a blen...

Re: Battery relocation

The factory battery mount is a tray, the rod, and a mounts with screw. Something like this: http://forums.genvibe.com/files/imported/194240=6867-000_0002.JPG The Vibe does in fact have a compact spare, screw jack, and tire iron. However, behind the plastic panels is a load of room. I'm aware of one...

Battery relocation

changing the headlights on my buddy's vibe the other day, pulled the battery to access the driver's side light. that corner, (Left front) is where the car was wrecked in it's previous owner's tenure, and hastily repaired, they slapped in a motorcraft 36 series battery(slightly wider than the spec'd ...

Re: "FALSE ECONOMY" car battery

30 months is great for one of those! :) Meijer is a good idea, I have looked at them there before. The kicker will be finding a fresh one, they're usually a few months old at my Meijer and have a good bit of dust on top. Next time I get a good Mperks offer for general merchandise, I could make myse...

Re: Stuck in recirc mode and blower fan only blows on high 0

Just in case anybody else runs into this problem. After replacing the resistor pack my fan still only worked on high. Busted out my multimeter and the switch and resistor both checked out fine. Before putting my fist through the window I decided to try using some electrical parts cleaner on the resi...

Re: "FALSE ECONOMY" car battery

Look on the bright side, ask anyone who has ever bought a new Hyundai. That's about 11 months longer than an OEM Hyundai battery lasts. The AC Delco battery in the Vibe is going on 8 years old, clinging on to life but it's probably getting due for a replacement. I would buy another one like i...

car still around? the CL ad comes up expired.

just curious as it would definitely fit the bill for a guy on another board i frequent. only issue would be locations. he's in Missouri..
it's the right size/age/price that he's looking for, and he def. wants a manual.

I'd lean towards Clueless, but he's more of the "artistic" type Honestly, he might be better off if someone WOULD steal the car. when he bought it, he knew he wanted a vibe, and had come into a little money, and the crooks -i mean used car Dealer- he bought it from saw him coming a mile aw...

Re: Wanted:Decent Used Tires in Central Ohio

I did try craigslist. found pretty much fuck-all. I can totally understand not trusting used tires, but almost anything is better than what he has on there currently. also keep in mind for me, while he(My Buddy, the vibe owner/driver) is in Columbus, (specifically down on Kossuth, couple blocks from...

Wanted:Decent Used Tires in Central Ohio

Buddy of mine in Columbus has an '03 base Vibe with the stock 16" wheels, with tires probably beyond legally bald. he also definitely does NOT have the $400+ for a set of new tires, looking for any recommendations on reputable sources of good used tires, or if any of you vibers might have an ex...

Re: p0171 & p0420, are they mutually exclusive?

p0171 is a system too lean code. if he hasn't had the intake manifold gasket replaced, do so. there is a tsb indicating faulty intake gasket leaking excessive air into the combustion chamber causing the lean issue. the 420 could be directly related to the lean condition. this is what my gut was fee...

p0171 & p0420, are they mutually exclusive?

So i'm changing the oil on my Buddy's 03 base vibe the other day, and i notice the CEL is lit up. Go get my scangauge & spare cable from my car, it comes up with a p0171, and p0420. if i remember reading things right on here, the p0171 could just be a MAF in need of cleaning and the p0420, could...

I dont know about Full Synthetics, but most of the oils you see branded "for Higher Mileage engines" normally defining those as more than 75k miles( high my ***) are Synthetic blends, Valvoline's Max Life for example.
