I installed the remote starter last fall, after a bit of frustration that I paid $120 and found out the trunk(glass hatch) release supposedly doesn't work for the 08 vibe I figured I'd buy a relay and make it work.
so I installed everything according to the instructional video that came w/ it. I added a relay to the parking lights as specified and then one to the hatch switch... both were directly connected into the 12 volt constant. I ended up putting both relay grounds onto the same bolt(not sure if it matters). Everything was working close to correctly, the only exemption was how it was working, to state the obvious. so the symptoms were as follows:
when i pressed the unlock on the bulldog fob it only unlocked the drivers door(compared to the factory fob that unlock all doors if pressed twice quickly).
when i used the hatch release it would also start the car
.as the tach would rev higher i could hear both relays going off in line w/ the rev. (I'm probably wrong, but i think this may be b/c i need to install the relay 12 volt connection into the main box somehow or splice in on the other side)
