Toyota RS3200 Alarm Module?

Post by BaseWhiteVibe »

Can someone confirm if the RS3200 Alarm Module would work with a 09 Vibe? The nice guy at the Toyta dealer said.... give it a try.

Here is some more relevant informaiton IRT the alarm system
(REF: http://www.trdsparks.com/install/PT398-12091inst.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Option 1. I have purchased the Glass Break Sensor and Passenger Air Bag Off Sensor WITH the Security Light (Picture 1), if I do use the RS 3200 system I could use these sensors and have it look stock. With this integration it will look ABSOLUTELY like a stock unit. ONE THING TO NOTE! The harness for the NON Security system is missing a wire in the harness (the lowest most wire)! Be sure to grab one off the parts car (need to make a special trip to the yard to get it). Also I haven't checked if my car has the GBS harness so I will cut it off when I visit.

Option 2. Use the Toyota GBS with Integrated security light, BUT it says Toyota on it (Picture 2)

Option 3. Use the Toyota GBS with the Integrated security light, BUT run a wire to the dash security light to have both blink!

Worthwhile? Discuss...

I took my dash apart last night, I can confirm that 99% of what is in the installation manual is in the car! Looks like we can do a plug and play!

ONE SMALL ISSUE! On page 12 there is a small 2 pin connector that has to be plugged into this harness which I could not find on the Vibe. Can someone confirm what this plug is? Do we need it?

I will update with pictures later on today, with the dash all apart last night I learned a lot and cleaned out A LOT while I had everything in pieces. LOOKS MUCH BETTER NOW! Not as much red dust everywhere!

I went to a Toyota dealer at lunch and looked behind the glovebox of a 14 Corolla, the connector is there. Once again the connector is missing on the Vibe. I will have to take a volt meter with me to determine if the cable has power to it, if so it may be possible to tap the power off of some other wire.

Come to learn that those connectors are called the E46 connectors, other than that I have no idea what function they provide!
