Yet another new member

Post by clw3388 »

So I'm new to this forum and look forward to meeting peeps as enthusiastic as I am about my car.
I bought my 05 Vibe, base model with moon and tunes package, and 156k miles, last Saturday.
I haven't been a Pontiac fan since the GTO but the vibe caught my eye. Sleek, hatchback, and Toyota motor. WHOOT!
No mods yet besides installing my subwoofer, amp, and capacitor, but I see a bright future ahead :)

Found this forum when I was surfing for a wiring diagram for the Radio. Needed a - and + speaker wire, along with the ignition positive. found a post by GMJAP
viewtopic.php?t=18846" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which nailed it!

So much to talk about, but don't want to rant so I'll end on that note..

Welcome to Genvibe. You passed the first test (In my opinion anyways) by properly posting your location. Watch out for those Tornadoes  Post pics of your ride (the second test) when you get a chance. Again Welcome ;)

so long as you post pics.

if not?.....

the mob awaits

Well I'd hate for the mob to come get me :|
This forum has a picture size limit that I cannot abide by, so here is an imgur linkhttp://imgur.com/a/pJNBV#5

Seriously though, kind of embarrassed to post pictures of the "used" shape it's in.. I take way better care of my cars than the previous owner did this one, but haven't had the time to clean up and finish my wiring job (Owned it less than a week, cut me a break). Going to have to post some after pictures in a few weeks to make me feel better..

Welcome! Your car looks exactly like my son's did before we got the 17" alloy wheels. Silver is a great color on these cars (after the red ones of course!) :D

Here is your picture so the mobs will stay calm!

Your Vibe looks fine to me, especially since, despite what trb says, it is the best color :D!

Thanks all for the kind welcome! I usually am a nonparticipant when it comes to forums. Seems there is always a troll you want to stab, but cant.

I found a website http://www.gmpartseast.com that is cheaper than the one mentioned here viewtopic.php?f=29&t=39046.

Let the fixes/upgrades/mods begin!!

88974657 WEATHERSTRIP 1

88974658 WEATHERSTRIP 1

94853558 NUT 2

88974121 RETAINER 2

88970750 GROMMET 1

88970767 RETAINER 3

88970717 BOLT,HEX 3

And your local ebay had the foglights i was looking for, means the previous owner didn't bother to replace the broken one.

P.S.:I do have to agree, grey is the best color on these cars.

This is definitely a great forum to participate on. Everyone is really laid back and there's no drama on here. Not any trolls either. We get the occasional spam post and that's about it. Best automotive forum on the internet in my opinion!

As far as GM parts websites, check out GMPartsCenter.net. I have ordered from them quite a few times and have never had any issues. They offer free shipping (they do charge a $7.99 handling fee, but this is still a way better deal then what you pay for shipping from other GM sites) on everything except oversized items (hoods, wheels, engine, etc.) and they also offer discounts quite a bit. Check out their homepage for information on any discounts they are currently offering (it's usually 5% off orders of $50.00 or more & 10% off orders of $100.00 or more).

Glad to hear you're starting off right by fixing/replacing the broken/missing parts. Once you're done with that, do you have any plans for mods?

Glad to hear you agree about the color, but it's not grey ;). There are a few different shades of grey on Vibes and then there's silver; Satellite, Platinum, Liquid Platinum Metallic, whatever you want to call it, just don't call it grey :P!

Well it looks grey to me.. But for your sake and sanity, we can call it silver ;) .

My fog lights came in the mail Thursday, but due to the flu bug tying to kill my family (I'll spare y'all the details) I had to wait till today to install.

I bought a set, but the passenger side isn't damaged, so I guess I'll call it a spare.

Still waiting for my other misc. parts to come.. should be here tomorrow because I have to work and wont have time to install them.. That's usually how it goes isn't it?

Oh!!! look what I get to cut out this weekend.:)

I found it under my dash as I was standing on my head wondering WHY THE (removed) they would put the fuses so far underneath.. No quick access panel?
