Today I was driving slowly out of an uneven stone parking lot and bottomed out. That surprised me as the ruts were really not that deep. I hope I didn't hurt anything.Yesterday on I-40 about half way between Raleigh and Wilmington, NC I was in a one lane construction zone area going the 55 mph limit when a driver coming into that lane from an entrance ramp failed to yield. To avoid a collision I had to veer off to the left partially into the grass. Did not experience any issue then.

Can't say that it's happened to me... but I have driven over a curb before (accidentally, I usually pay attention...) and driven on very rough dirt/ice roads and the car is pretty stiff. It can knock you around quite a bit if you're not expecting it!
i was pulling into a space in a way uneven parking lot. it was one of those where they poured asphalt all over the lot, but neglected to fill holes first.at about 5mph, my wheel got swallowed up and from the sound of it, i thought i really took the bottom of the car apart. but after getting out and checking things out, nothing but my pride was hurt.that was like 3 years ago. hope you didn't get bounced around too much, jakei got out, checked under the car and no problems.

I haven't done it in my Vibe (yet), but I bottomed my VW Jetta out a couple times. Once was driving on a mud/gravel road in Germany, and that VW didn't have much ground clearance.Another time, I got forced off to the right on a narrow road around here, by one of those huge freakin' dually pickups that are so common around here, and the asphalt dropped off on the right side. I bottomed the VW out on it, but there was no permanent damage ... only to my mental state (I was really pissed - those huge trucks think they OWN the road).Fortunately, the Vibe has more ground clearance than the VW.Hope yours is OK!
