2009 engine cover lettering peeling

Post by flavibegt »

Has anyone else experienced this? I'd like to just take the silver lettering completely off. Any recommendations on how to remove?

I have a 2009 also, the 2.4L engine. Paint or maybe it is a stick-on transferable film is also coming off a few letters. I just had to touch the letter, and it came off with my finger.I would like it to stay on. but you want it removed? I guess a little rubbing will make it come off. It may be easy if the cover was warm or hot.If all the paint comes off of my cover, I may try to repaint the letters it with some special paint.

I figured the silver will keep peeling, scraped it all off, looks pretty good.

If you want to replace the lettering with a graphic overlay, GrafxWerks now offers a VVT-i 16V overlay for our '09-'10 2.4L engines.http://www.grafxwerks.com/prod...-1518(That's my engine cover in the photos.)

I kinda like how mine is peeling off. I think it gives the car a cool aged appearance. I will allow it to slowly peel until its comes off on its own. Sometimes its just better to peel and let peel.

Here is the new GrafxWerks VVT-i 16V overlay for 2009-2010 2.4L engine covers. Ryan chose Regular Dark Red - it looks great! Thanks, Ryan!
