I have a 2005 vibe and just over the past few months certain cds will not play. I've tried cleaning the cd player with a cd cleaner disk and it did help but only for a while. Some of the cds it will not play are brand new, i will buy them and put htem in and they make a skipping noise then skip through out the whole song. I don't know what to do does anyone have any advice? Please
welcome to the family.if it's still under warranty, you can get it taken care of for free. if not, you can always check here or ebay and find another one. the best thing would be to go with an aftermarket one

I had the same problem with CD player. Although you could get a new one I have another option to consider as told to me by somebody on GenVibe. If you like to recycle and get things cheap try ebay. I just bought one from LKQ (a power seller). They sent it quick and it's working PERFECTLY. See below. It came with a warranty but no install instructions but it is just like the one you remove so it's easy.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...sting

CD player cleaning CD's aren't cutting it... it's nothing more than a brush that wipes the crud from one side of the laser lense to the other... A real cleaning will involve removing the unit, opening it to some extent to expose the laser, and wiping it down with a Q-tip dipped in Windex or IPA, drying and re-assembling/re-installing.. I've done HUNDREDS of CD player cleanings and it's the only 'good" way of doing it... THEN once it's done, there is no real telling if it will work properly... As a CD laser pick-up ages it get week, there ARE adjustments for it, but you have to have a test bench and a ossilliscope to do it and the service manual to go along with it.. Some go for EVER, some don't
